My list is growing fast and I am not going to far out of my way to find them. See directories stored on the same IP.

Does anyone else think that this is ridiculous?

If you have want to check on a particular directory then do a search on the domain at Web Directories.

I also have a list of directories on the same IP C Class.

Is it 100% proven that this will make a difference?

No not all 140. SEe the list with the IPs. Sometimes you may have 7 or 8 on the same IP and other times 2 or 3 on the same IP.

Just purchase hosting from different hosts. Let me know if you do and I'll take them off the list.

Anyone that wants 100% proof before acting should get into something else other than SEO.

On the other hand, since there are soooo many other directories out there I would suggest submitting to other ones, especially if you are paying for a link or an ad.

I don't think that should make any difference, despite if they all share the same IP. It's still the domain name that is more important, rather IP address.

Think again. Google will penalize for too many incoming links on the same IP address. They detect this as an attempt to manipulate their algo.

Interesting and helpful list, the title is alittle misleading though it's a good resource.

Think of those sites on shared-hosting, there is no unique ip for them , right?

At my Ask Premium Directory I use private dedicated IP and I pay $2 more a month for this because I want my clients to 100% satisfied, but I really think this IP thing is another SEO myth.
My proof, I know of a directory that is PR7 and 80% of the links pointg to him are 20 PR4 sitewides from the same IP different domains, at least on PR I don’t think it matters on other things I don’t know.

Yea, I too have found that the IP thing really has no negative effects on PR. I have one site in particular, that I never spent anytime promoting, so probably 99% of its backlinks are from my other sites, all stored on the same server. It went from PR0 to PR5 last update.

Your proof says that the links made the little green bar go to 7. You don't mention that it had any effect on helping the site rank well in the SERPs for competitive keywords.
