Hi everyone, I've recently got a paid submission in Yahoo Directory for the Solar Photovoltaic company i work for, but on closely checking the page details I've found that it isn't cached yet. The category is a small new subcategory so this is understandable, I just wanted to know whether any manual backlinking that I could do myself would get the page cached? The directory page is: Yahoo: Solar Renewable Energy Any advice would be appreciated!
Do you mean not cached or not indexed? Do you have a blog that is search-engine-friendly you update frequently? Linking to a page in a natural way from such a blog is often the easiest way to get a page indexed. For example, if you have a blog for your business, you could have a brief post in which you annouce: "We are now listed in the Yahoo Directory". It's a bit silly but it'll probably get that page indexed. Honestly though? If the page isn't indexed, adding a single link to it probably isn't going to help you that much. Pages that aren't indexed rarely have much traffic or SEO value. You may be better off just waiting...how long has it been? And how new is that category?
I worked for an SEO company so I'm aware of this! One of the reasons for this post was to get the link to the directory page to get it indexed. You'd be surprised of the worth of a single link - a Yahoo directory page will always eventually get indexed due to the internal linking structure and the overall domain authority. I didnt personally choose the directory page for the link so I ddnt put too much input into the page choice. It appres now that the page had been cached a while back but only just shows up on the Google toolbar Cache app. The site itself in question is completely optimised - it was built with SEO in mind as the competition is getting pretty strong! I can't really put that post you describe on the blog however as it is not in keeping with what the boss likes! We have to build offsite links only.
I dont think, submitting on paid yahoo directory will helpful for exposure. So i dint do tat for my site. so no ideas about your doubt.
From an SEO point of view, the benefits of getting a link on a domain with high authority can lift the overall domain in the SERPS. If it was a small project website I'd be apprehensive to pay the fee, but for a company with a high turnover it is a worthwhile investment.
Same issue again! I wish there was an easy way to choose the indexed page on paid directories Joe Ant appear to choose the category for you.... Any have suggestions on how to get this page indexed: Renewable Energy > Solar Edit: Or this page
