is it worth it to start a blog?

im not sure if i should invest the time to start a blog, how has it worked for you?

 

When you start for a blog, make sure you will consistently maintain it. Don't start if you're in doubt.

 

so what kinds of things need maintaining??

 

All blogs and websites need maintaining.

If in doubt, don't start it.
Know that most blogs don't make a dime as most look at a blog as a way to make quick money. It isn't, and many blogs go dormant in quickly when the owners realize it.

For it to become successful, you will have to invest time, and money and learn marketing, promotion, and SEO. You also need to investigate the most beneficial ways for you to monetize it. All programs are not created equal or are a good fit for every kind of blog.

You also need to have a plan on how to keep it updated with relative, entertaining or informative content.

It's a job. It's not something that you "set it and forget it". Competition is steep and the internet is littered with crappy , BS blogs repeating the same information as the one just before it.

If you have a unique position, voice, or knowledge of a certain niche and think that you can fill a void that isn't being met, or that you can be competitive with others in what ever niche you choose and have the patience, and dedication to learn all that you can to achieve that, then do it.

If you are just looking to make a couple of extra bucks and really have no direction of ideas, then don't waste your time until you have a plan and are ready to commit to it.

 

Yes, it has worked! Before starting my blog, i actually did not plan to make money with it, it is my first blog, plus at that time i did not believe any making money online stuff.

But now i do believe, making money with blog is real. I am currently serious on one blog and autoblog.

My serious blog is requiring times, but autoblog does not require much time, just set it automatically and it works well, so far.

Even my autoblog can earn me money from affiliate, its also my first autoblog so i am very happy about it lol.

Well, i make money, but not a lot. it is not even 1000$ a month..One day i hope it will reach that amount lol..

I am sure there are lots of people who make money more..

I have checked your blog, it is a nice blog, but you really have to optimise your site first. Example, see this image how your pages are indexed in Google.



I am not SEO expert either, but those pages are not SEO optimised only by seeing the contents that is indexed by Google.

Secret to make money is your visitors or traffic, without them, we will fail.

So first, concentrate on your website's SEO, then getting traffic and then monetise.

I only monetize my site with adsense when my traffic was under 300. Then i started affiliate when it was increased.

If we think we should monetize our blog first instead of optimising website, we are in hurry, in my opinion.

 

You should ask yourselves a number of questions:

- Are you blogging for money?
- Are you blogging for achieving personal goals, be organized?

But blogging is totally worth it IMO! It's easy and it you can speak your heart out.

I am really not in any hurry to make money it is just that i have read your comments so i thought of having some guidance from you regarding points when people come to our blog and how will they come again?
After these questions then i consider questioning about making money through it as you have said that your blog is not more than 5 months old so i think you can really guide me to get traffic to my blog.
i am aware of seo techniques but really want to know the ones which actually works.

For me blogging was a passion....The time is worth spending if you're really interested...

 

I think it is worth! Of course, be ready for a work and not just receiving of money! Nowadays with blogs you can reach every impressive results, if you would check out how many of websites in fact are blogs, you probably would be very surprised.
