who founded google?when was it founded?who founded it?was it founded by chance?"how much money can they make google?"
They started off with barely nothing, in a garage. The home they started in was recently for sale(or sold by now) for some outragous million dollar amount even though it was a piece of crap.
I remember in 1997 when I was working for a Computer Magazine, the technical editor gave us a piece of paper with a website saying "take a look at this, it looks quite good". the website was google.stanford.edu The clean interface was a dramatic contrast to the powerhouse search engines of the time like altavista and yahoo. The search results were quite decent as well. The investors came on board a year later when they moved to google.com
some people says: one day two students want to make the google and decided to go to yahoo.after that this student want support from yahoo for them.but yahoo dont wanna support them...and they decided to found google with their own chance.. what is your opinion about it?
Have you ever been to Palo Alto? You would be hard pressed to find any home thats "a peice of crap", not to mention anything under $700,000 I believe they started with $100k, then went to angel investors and got a lil over a million
Read the book: The Google Story Everything you wanna know is listed in there. Even how Larry met Sergey and how they started with the technology Didier
here is one of early pages of google (it was beta by birth!) http://web.archive.org/web/19981202230410/http://www.google.com/
That is not true. They started at Stanford with computing resources donated by Stanford. Coming from Stanford they also had a much better chance finding investors. Those are chances most of us wouldn't get. Every high tech company claims to have been started in a garage since its a great myth and brings with it a lot of sympathy, but thats just BS. Google started with financial and computational backup from Stanford.
Wow, beta in 1998. if I recall that year excite.com, webcrawler and infoseek were the biggest engines. A couple years before that was altavista. www worm was a big one too and does not even exist anymore. Wow what a difference several years makes on the web. it really does move fast
True. The book has all the info. STUPID Yahoo! had the chance to get Google but they aren't smart enough to think so they lost their opportunity and have been paying for for the past 6 years.
I prefer The Search by John Battelle. This is a very well writen book with pleanty of insight for the SEO minded.
