Xenforo has made the leaps necessary to place itself in the running with already established software.

It looks great, but IMO is too expensive to compete as it is not very well known and established. But I guess raising prices later would create a backlash.

IMO that's false. Xenforo is completely different from vBulletin. Either in layout or in performance. It is more secure too.

VBulletin is more feature rich for me than MyBB; but as a free alternative then MyBB is a great bit of software for sure

The brand name might be not as well-known, but Kier and Mike really know what they're doing. After all, they were the ones who built the vBulletin 3 brand-name.

Yeah I am fully aware who it is run by, but then I know a lot about the history of vbulletin etc. that even a lot of big board owners might not know or care about. I think they should have a beta price rate (is it in beta at the moment) to build some trust?

They had a one-day sale the day Internet Brands filed suit. Either way, obviously being more of a vBulletin Lite than a full community suite like its commercial competitors, they had to price it at least lower, which they did.

I would personally go for Vbulletin , its a great piece of forum software although it can make a dent in the wallet ,if you dont want to pay any money thenn MyBB would be another good choice to choose , its still a great piece of software

    Salam ahmer :)

Unfortunately, you are young, and don't know the cruelty of mybb staff. One day you will know how cruel they were. :-/ They are worst staff of any forum software.

Have used them both. I have 6 VB licenses and only 3 are now active. MyBB is comparable to VB, less spam, easier to skin. My vote goes for MyBB and I need to see how I get rid of 3 VB licenses too :D

Yes. The truth is that VB has become so much more than what 99% of admins need. It's a waste of resources and the bigger VB base package gets the more difficult it becomes to manage. Price is imho secondary. If VB was free I would not use it.

My vote is for Mybb. Vbulletin is unattractive, overpriced and the skins aren't as easy to modify as the mybb ones

Wow how in the hell does MyBB have more votes than vBulletin. They're not even comparable. vBulletin is soooo much better hence why it costs $200 as compared to free.
