There are several books out there talk talk about adsense, how to make it work, techniques and other things to make you a prime publisher. Has any of you bought any of those books or ebooks? if you have, which one and did you find it helpful?

more or less everything I know about adsense (and I know a decent bit-- I was basically living on adsense income for quite a while, though I'm more diversified now, thankfully) was learned for free. I've seen some of the ebooks out there, and quite frankly I think in 99% of cases, they're a complete and utter waste of your money.

one exception would have been the adsense gold package (it came bundled with a book) back before there were free adsense tracking scripts. but the tracking script was what made it worthwhile, not the material in the book.

everything you need to know about adsense can be found for free. there's no need to pay for it.

use digitalpoint, webmasterworld, perhaps jensense and other blogs, and look at what other sites are doing.

keep in mind though, adsense sure isn't what it used to be.

What are subscriptions? Are you willing to reveal some sources of good CPM publishing?

CPA means cost per action so you get paid when someone takes a certain action like filling out a form or paying for something or whatever the action is.

cpa, as described above, is "cost per action." it's essentially a subsection of affiliates. instead of getting paid when there's a sale, you get paid when a user does something. when a user signs up to a mailing list, enters their address, etc.

subscriptions are simple... certain parts of a site, or a whole site, you need to pay for to access. it can be a very very nice flow of money that isn't subject to the ups and downs of adsense. not that it doesn't come with its own headaches.

there's no such thing as "good CPM publishing." CPM should generally be a last resort. I've never used CPM outside of niches with horrible (in terms of quality) traffic.

I will prefer to read a book to optimize my site rather adsense. Once the site is optimize with large traffic, you can try any method for placing adsense code to see which given better result. Traffic is the only sucussful key for adsense.
