Other Search Engine Webmaster Tools

    I know Google & Bing have webmaster tools where you can submit a sitemap. Are there any other search engines/places I can submit a sitemap?

    I know Yahoo and Alexa has one too. You can try submitting your sites there.

    Yes, that's Yahoo Site Explorer. At this moment you can submit sitemaps to Google, Yahoo, Ask.com and Bing.

    You can also submit your sitemap into Yahoo! Search.

    To add your sitemap to Yahoo!:

    1. From the Search Engines page, copy the link to your Sitemap file.
    2. Sign in to your Yahoo! account.
    3. Enter the URL for your site in the Submit Site feed field (e.g., http://www.yourdomain.com)
    4. Click Submit Feed.

    Hidden XML type sitemaps are useful for search engines - but don't ignore having a 'real one'
    ie A page that lists and links to every page of your site.
    In wordpress I use the free Dagon Designs sitemap generator to create a page I name Index http://www.dagondesign.com/sitemap/
    This linking with one url for all your pages helps visitors and actually tells every search engine all they need to know - whether or not you help them out with other types of site maps.

    You can submit a sitemap at Yahoo. However, in my opinion, Google sitemap is the best. Submiting a sitemap is not easy. :(
