Because i like wordpress, so i recommend using wordpress to make a website :)

You can install wordpress offline to play around and learn it..

But if you want to hire someone then good luck and be careful with scams. I personally would like to learn myself..

Because once you are a bit familiar with it, you won't need to hire someone again if you need to modify your site.

There are lot of choices. You have to choose one of them.

    Website:
Take more time to setup when compared to blogs. You have to buy Hosting (can use free hosting service also, but limitations are there).

    Blogs:

You can create blogger or wordpress blog. Easy to manage.
Lot of good looking templates available.
But blog is under the blogger or wordpress. But no problem at all.
I am having my blog in blogger only.

My suggestion is that use Wordpress .

It depends, if you are running a business you will probably want to pay a small sum for a professional to build you a site. After all you probably need to spend the time developing marketing and promotion strategies first... On the other hand, a self-hosted Wordpress site is fast becoming a good way of building a website. My site is static but I do have a self-hosted Wordpress blog on the same domain. You can visit my profile if you want to check out my site and blog.

I was originally a landscape labourer until 2006/7 when I decided to pursue my dream of being a qualified web designer and developer on a full-time basis, and I havn't looked back :). I started by going to a community college for 6 months, then a year at a polytechnic (like a university), and now I am a major in Computer Science and I plan to graduate in 2012 (unless the so-called "2012" scenario is true lol). Before I started all this I primarily learned HTML and CSS via MySpace templates and it grew from there, to where I am today. Personally, I am mainly interested in the technical aspects to designing websites, but at the same time realise the importance of the design aspect. SEO is also fast becoming a main interest of mine and I am learning and implementing new ideas all the time. When I got my first paid client 3 years ago it was a huge buzz knowing I could get paid doing something I really love, now I service a few clients in my own country and internationally. As with anything, you will need patience, dedication, self-reliance, and the will to succeed. You will also definitely need a thirst for knowledge as web design and development has a few learning curves :).

If you want to have a look at my sites without the need of visiting my profile, you can do so here:

    My main site: http://www.interkiwiwebdevelopers.com
    My blog: http://www.interkiwiwebdevelopers.com/blog
    Code (markup):
Feel free to ask questions if need be :).

Just setting up a blog is not enough. If you want to make money you should do some research (Google is your friend) about how to make money with blogging.

Only a blog with some AdSense or similar does not generate money. You need much more... unique content... a lot of work... a lot of time spending to write unique content.

I would suggest you start learning HTML/CSS first at w3schools.com and learn how to use WordPress and it's plugins.

You have no idea how much I have heard that saying over the last 5 years lol. It's getting cheesy but it is true, the big G is a vast knowledge bank you will want to "rob" :).

Doing blogging will get you more traffic, because usually there are too many forums with the same content and people don't like to register and so on.

It really amazes me how technologically advanced India is :). Besides playing cricket over in India, I would like to go over to India because of their rise in technology, and also that I have met so many Indians that are quite adept at web design and development.

For Nassar11 , it depends on how well he can utilise his problem solving skills and if he will be patient enough, because at the start it can be very challenging but once you start to put things together you will get faster and better. After about 4 to 5 years he will gain enough experience to be likely employed by a web development company or start his own business in the niche. I have been doing web design and development since late 2005 and I just about nearly gave up because it was so frustrating, but I had the patience to tackle what seemed like something Albert Einstein would try and solve and here I am 5 years later with a steady client base, as well as getting a B average whilst Majoring in Computer Science at university (although I was 6 points away from getting a B+ and 15 points from getting an A). As with anything, never give up because it will definitely pay off :).

Yes using tables which is what PS saves the code as, at least last time I did a website in PS it did, is bad, tables are not good to use anymore, things of the long past, CSS is best very easy to convert the code though.

You should probably start with google's free website builder , If u wanna make a real website,h have to find a hosting website. Some offer deals where they include a domain name and from there they offer tools on designing the website for beginners

Learn HTML & CSS and you'll have a easier time then screwing around whit WP . Also there are more crap logs then anyone can imagine and 99.99999% of them never make a single cent .

You can learn it by yourself. First you should get Adobe Collection. Basiclly you will need three of their programs: Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator. Learn how to use Photoshop and Illustrator, learn HTML, CSS and PHP. After that get some good books on web designing where you will learn the basics. Then you are ready to start making your own designs.

I think, you must do self-study so you'll have a knowledge about internet marketing then hire someone if you want. :)

Register a domain and get hosting from Wordpress. Your web building process cannot be more easier than this. You can also opt to register a website directly from WordPress so that you don't get the headache of changing name-servers.

if you have access to rvskins in cpanel it makes it pretty easy to put together a site. They have some pretty good templates for almost any type of site
