Facebook promotion is one of the important aspect of internet marketing these days. But i would like to raise a question regarding conversion ratio of facebook pages. How do you think facebook likes yields in your business conversion?
If you think about it would you want to do business that has been around for a long time but only has say 100 followers or would you want one that have over a million followers. If people don't like them would you?
One thing you have to understand about ALL social networks (not just Facebook) is that they are places (websites) where people gather to entertain, spend some quality time, stay in touch with people they love/care about, kill the boredom etc. Different psychological triggers are in place when someone goes to Google and searches for a product to buy and when that same person goes to Facebook or YouTube to surf videos, pictures, status updates, chat etc. The simplest and most logical thing you can do is somehow "capture" these people and approach them when they are in a mood to go and buy something. The easiest and most convenient solution is to capture their email addresses in some email management&marketing service (Aweber, GetResponse, iContact, ConstantContact...). In my case average conversions on email squeeze pages promoted via Facebook are 10-15%, which means that out of every 100 people visiting my websites through Facebook or Twitter 10-15 of them subscribe to my newsletter/email list. From then on I am nurturing these so called "leads", build trust, relationship, and after some time I try offering them paid products which I have either created myself or I promote some affiliate products etc. This works in almost all niches which actually spend money online
Thanks for your feedback. I would like to point out that is it all about getting followers. If you are thinking that a page having 10,000 or more followers will yield good conversion then i can show you some facebook pages that has more than 10K likes but very poor conversion. Reason is the motive behind using facebook of users. As explained by rovard in previous post. People joins facebook to get away from their boredom or to stay connected with friends and share things with them. If your site is having Google analytics and if you track the facebook traffic then i am sure that you will find a high bounce rate unless your site is video site or something that's interactive. thanks for such a wonderful explanation. I think if one has to increase conversion from facebook likes then it is better to contact them through emails about your services and products rather than relaying on facebook posts only.
I'm currently using FB to build loyalty and repeat buyers (though just starting out) in conjunction with email campaigns. Different people will have different preferences and they may delete or skim most emails, but pay attention to a FB post. Consider it another channel to distribute advertising (not to be confused with the paid version). When I get enough followers I'll start offering some discounts to FB only and see how those convert.
yes, it helps... eg - if you have lot of fans who like fashion in your facebook page, most probably you can offer them some fashion CPA offers. As I said, if you have targeted fans, they will convert to business.
That's true but it's only because FB can increase your website visit count but getting fruitful visitor (who will purchase product and services) is not meant for FB users. Isn't it ?
