    When did this happen exactly? Maybe a PR update is in progress :) If this is the case then the site should receive its PR in couple of days. However I have seen cases when the PR dropped and returned to normal only at another PR update. And PR updates are very rare nowadays.

    if you have tons of links then check them properly. how many of them are still active. if it is o then a page rank update is going on. i faced this before. my site PR2 got zero after 3/4 days it got 3 :)

    You need to check the quality of the links wich are pointing to you. Maybe a one time promotion was done before?

    You might had PR 5 because of website age, now you need to get quality backlinks and try to for classified ad pasting, that will give you instant traffic and ranking.

    I do not think so Page rank can effect your Search ranking,

    I will suggest concentrate on making Quality back links from high Page Rank Websites.

    1.) Some of your backlinks might be banned; in this case you have lost your PR
    2.) It's Google Dance and your PR will be back in some days (already happened to me)
    3.) It's Google Dance but you will get back your PR only at the next PR update (it also happened to me, PR4 to PR0, then now 5 months later it is back to PR4).

    Go first for checking your backlinks. Some times something like this happens due to ban of backlinks.

    If they are OK, then do not worry. You should already hared that it happens randomly.

    Wait and see. Hope you will get better PR soon.

    wht i've heard is tht PR 2,4,6 are bad cz these figures most likely increase or decrease when PR is updated in short they are not stable.

    Sometimes there are big problem to search google PR. So i think your site can not use anyone that's why PR is goes to down.

    maybe links we're reduces or your site lost reputation, I also running a blog that lost it's PR from PR 3 and it didn't gain any PR but 0.
