Link magnetism is a principle applied by innovative search marketers, you basically offer value to the linker for them to link to your site (like what Vimeo is currently doing), it's different with link bait, since with link magnetism, it offers incentives and triggers needs and emotions, unlike with link bait that its sole purpose is to attract links through education or entertainment.

Curation is where you link out to informative sites/blog posts in order to get links, it's actually basic psychology. The main idea is to grab influential people's attention around your niche, since you would want to have a link from them. promoting their content through your "curated post" will surely make them want to promote your post through their own networks (twitter, mention on a blog post, facebook, etc...). Basically, you make round up posts of highly informative articles related to your industry and share it to your own followers.

That's a tough one. But if I were to manage its search marketing strategies and brand development, I guess I'd be doing these:

- Become a badass/controversial seller of baby cloth dipers, since brand, voice, image and identity/personality plays a big role in being a link magnet.
- focus with exceptional/artistic design (for infographs in creating link bait materials) that still relates to the offered products
- free report/pdf that are solely created to target those who want to earn from selling/promoting your product through affiliate commissions. this should include statistics and specific ways on "how" they can really earn to make a buzz.
