Google alerts can be very useful. What you can do with google alerts is that you can put the keywords targeting your site in google alerts . And then you get regular updates on keywords regarding blogs and articles and any other update on that keyword.
so u can
1. keep a track on your competitors .
2. Gets an idea about what new you can do .

so you can put alerts on keywords
