Is it safe to get blogroll links? Does google approve them?

Is there a chance google might ban you if you have blogroll links coming to your site?

There is nothing wrong with having a backlink from a blogroll.

You just have to be careful about the other links in the blogroll. There might be links from sites that are considered to be bad neighborhood by search engines. You can be rest-assured of that if the blog owner is serious about the quality standards on the blog. If the quality standards are met, then there won't be any harm to your site and you don't stand a chance of getting banned by Google.

I would think blogroll links are fine. I have all of my blog rolls linking to my sales sites.

These types of links don't count for much anymore:

    a. footer links
    b. blogroll links
    c. partner links
    d. sponsored links
    e. link pages

Now I'm not saying they don't count at all. I'm saying that they don't count for much. The search engines are now looking for links that look organic. This means that content links will count for more than being in some link list. Nevertheless, in a game where every link "may count" I would take all the links I can get. Links will never hurt you, though they might not help you either.

With my experience Blog Roll is a type of link building. It is better to get links from them. I wish to share an article SEO your Blog which explains that it is a 3 way link so, search engine doesn't considers it. So, it seems confusing me.
