Contest Logo Design Contest - + recognition + future work

    Hello,

I am looking to find some professional logo designers who I can contract work to when overloaded. Due to having most staff in house outsourcing wont be offered to many designers and only those who can meet the requirements. So I have decided what better way than to hold a contest. This contest will be for my company Zoom Active and may or may not be used.

Here is what you will get if you win the contest
    1) Recognition - if the logo design is approved and is actually used for our logo then we will give you recognition for the design you have done for Zoom Active.

    2) Future work - even if you don't win, participating in the contest can give you an extra contact and the possibility for further work. As mentioned above not everyone will be chosen however we will be fair and be sure to message every member of DP who participates!

    3) Of course you will be paid!

In order for us to spot the best logo designers here on this forum we are raising the bar for the contest.

    Guaranteed payment winner*: $5
Expected payment: $20-$25 based on quality seen on the forums
    Max Payment: $50

If I love your logo and it fits the marketing and brand perfectly, we use the logo and plan on using the logo for the entire life of the company then you will be awarded $50. This is not to say that if we use the logo you will be paid $50. Remember you are getting paid more than money!

    Logo Design must have:

    1) Must be a combination mark: see http://www.logodesignsource.com/types.html for details
    2) Color must play on buying emotions and use bold "not bright" colors including Green and must also have at least 2 primary colors however no more than 3 primary colors. You may use up to 6 colors for the entire logo.
    3) Logo design must pass the black and white test
    4) Logo must look good on print and web
    5) Logo may not use advanced filters such as bevel and emboss or excessive shadows. You are welcome to use shadows if done for line purposes.
    6) Logo must have a cheetah's face or body outline "not looking for a full mascot size by the company name as the logo" cheetah can not be cutesy or mean. It should look responsible, reliable and down to business. If you choose to detail the cheetah the color must be green and not a normal yellowish as in real life.
    7) Pantone colors preferred
    8) font needs to be more of a bold stock rather than a thin stock. Some poor examples of what we are looking for is Impact, Franklin Gothic Demi, Myriad Pro Bold
    9) Logo must be simplistic, memorable yet also show the cheetah
    10) must include a slogan "fast service, fast results"
    11) Source files must be sent by winner in psd format. Spend more time on the design and not making it vector.

Best of luck and I hope to find some incredible logo designs for future work! Remember one person is guaranteed to win atleast $5 and if the work is very professional you will be paid more even if the logo is not used! Contest ends January 1st and I have the right to extend the contest if there is less than 20 entries unless a concept is to our likings and is chosen.

tyrone12234, looks pretty good however you have failed to use green in your logos, font looks great, not looking for an entire cheetah body such as the one you have preseneted. If you use an entire body please encompass it around the font and use more of a outline than a filled in design. Also, the cheetah must be green so the lines of the cheetah must be green if you do an outline version. Im not big on the line underneath the wording Zoom Active

sparkle92, good try however the cheetah appears rushed and uses a poor font selection. Also lets try to stick with close colors for the font. The cheetah's ear is a little awkward and the dots are not filled in. Also, you did not place the slogan in the design.

t.j detwiler the logo looks good overall however the font used for Zoom Active "both words" must be the same and use the same color theme all one color or dark and a little darker. The text uses too much color and the font appears blurred and would not do well for being memorable. Font slogan looks good if you could make the slogan not so bold that appears to be even better. The cheetah design is very good however uses a tad too much green around the eyes and the dropshadow. Perhaps move the dropshadow and make the features of the cheetah a white. Also, im not liking the arrow as part of the font / logo. There will be whitespace when you remove the arrow so perhaps scale the head larger and put it next to the "E" on Active and maintain the waviness above the overall "Zoom Active"

mister badz: the logo uses no green. Im not looking for red and the grey is too lite. I dont see a jaguar in the design at all and this needs to be very obvious in the logo. The font is pretty good however it is not as bold as it should be. Also, you are missing an "S" on the word results.

tyrone: im liking this one more however the jaguar is still not encompassed into the design. I will create a quick mockup of what I mean and send it to you to see what you can do. The colors are not to expectations so I will send you some color codes for the logo. The slogan ideally should be below the logo on the right side.

sparkle92: I am really digging the revised version however for some reason the jaguar just does not fit in with the logo that well and the text may be a little difficiult to remember around the "c and t" area of Zoom Active. Perhaps adding a white line between the "c and t" of approx 2 px would help a lot.

Looking good so far folks, will be sending some messages later today for possible work relationships and contacts.

    Thanks!

misterbadz: liking the top concept however the cheetah does not look right where it is positioned.

t.j detwiler: not looking for web 2.0 designs, this is a corporate logo.

sparkle92: the Z does not look slanted like the other letters and the a is not easily readable or memorable for those looking at the words.

tyrone: top design is ok however there is rough edges, try and make it smoother smoother. The cheetah is also a little too tall. Great font selection.

Any knowledgeable Logo designer knows that PSD is for photos, banners, and headers, not Logo.
Doing Vector Logos is the best way, and is the standard on every "logo" site, even the site you directed
    people to -> http://www.logodesignsource.com/logodesign.html

While there are some good Photoshop artists on this forum, they are nothing close to being Logo designers
until they can learn to draw in Vector and not "export" from Photoshop. Good luck with your contest.......

I personally use Illustrator to draw the vector then transfer it to Photoshop for coloring/lighting . But a logo should be vector, no matter how detailed it is, since you will find it hard to place a picture with resolution 1600x1000 on something bigger ;)

Anyway, thanks for feedback, will make a revision :)
