I think that's the case with Google. The more backlinks you have (quality ones) the higher your PR would be.
Different Types Of Factor To Increase Page Rank: Getting Backlinks from valuable websites No. of time hits Fresh Content Etc.
Hi Dear, This is true that Page Rank depends mostly on backlinks, but this is also true that only backlinks are not important for PR. To increase your web page rank you should have only quality back links ( from relevant business sites, blogs, articles sites, social bookmarking) to that web page, there should be quality content present on that site ( should be keywords rich, which are being targeted for that page), web page should be properly optimized and should meet the standard of other technical factors of Google seo.
A lot of factors go into PR increase, notably the age of the site, and the age of the backlinks to the site
Ya this is the fact that PR is only affected by the inbound links coming to your site. Page rank is given to your site after checking the quality, relevancy and theme of your links pointing to your site. Increase more link popularity with quality back links and you will sure get good pr in next pe updation.
Content does help is SERPs but it has nothing to do with PR... Inbound links from high PR sites will help
i think the content is also important to the page rank. if the content is great, there are more people will link to you. so you will get more backlinks.tus, the page rank of your site will be higher.good luck

2007 post? Re-living the dead again? Here's an answer that has worked for me very well...buying old domain names for money sites. All depends on your objectives/niche sites...but the older the better.
Buying old domain! When a domain need to get sold? Ask yourself. You will find the simple answer: Where there is no scope of going more on the WWW it gives up and sells himself.
Chances are I disagree with everyone on this subject. I think Pagerank can be extremely arbitrary based on Googles algorithm. For example I've written articles on authority websites that have been given a pagerank of 2 without ever building backlinks. If you think about it if all webpages start with a 0 pagerank then no pagerank would ever pass. Which means something in the Algorithm has to assign a webpage a value of at least .00000001 (Infinite) for any pagerank to ever pass through the entire internet. What I think is Googles algorithim assigns pagerank based on it's own interpretation of useful content. If Google thinks your webpage is useful to it's search it will arbitrarily assign it a pagerank. Of course that only occurs on authority websites like Hubpages/ Ezine that have a high trust rank. It's actually a confusing subject I'll stop rambling.
No page rank is calculated on the basis of the page-rank of that website which link to you or you are getting backlink from.
