According to the Gallup poll, these are the top 10 people Americans admired the most for 2010. I'm not sure at all of the accuracy of this poll. The results seem kind of surprising. If they had rephrased it to say "The Most Influential" or something like that, I would be more likely to agree. No disrespect intended, but if I made my own list it would probably look quite different. Would you like to add or take away any names? 1. Barack Obama 2. Hillary Rodham Clinton 3. Sarah Palin 4. George W. Bush 5. Oprah Winfrey 6. Bill Clinton 7. Michelle Obama 8. Nelson Mandela 9. Condoleezza Rice 10. Bill Gates
As a hardcore christian, what about Palin could possibly bother you? IMO, the list is completely worthless. Sheeople will admire anyone from Paris Hilton to "Hide your kids, Hide your wife" boy. The only people on the list who have actually left a meaningful mark on history are Gates and Mandella. The person least qualified to be on the list is Michelle Obama.
It has nothing to do with Christianity. She doesn't belong in politics and if you've been following her views, you'd understand she is nowhere near qualified. She is stubborn and wants to make a voice for herself just to get the media attention. At least, I can safely say none of those on the list will mix up N. Korea as an ally.
In the headlines, Palin Mixes Up N. Korea as an ally! However, listening to the interview with Beck, at least to me, it seems possible that it may have just been a slip of the tongue. Palin said, "Obviously, we've got to stand with our North Korean allies." then Beck said, "South Korea" and she immediately corrected herself saying "bound by prudence to stand with our South Korean allies, yes." The media immediately pounced on this. However, there is really no proof that it was anything more than a slip of the tongue. If it had been almost any other politician being interviewed, the media probably wouldn't have made such a big deal out of it. With that said, Palin probably wouldn't be in my top 10 either.
Where are you from dude ? Innocentsville ? The guy is directly responsible for casualties in Afghanistan and massive damage to the US economy . You really expect someone to like you after you steal and publish his personal diary ?
Yah, I really don't get piling onto linguistic slip ups. People who pile onto Palin or Bush almost never mention or even acknowledge Obama's 57 states comment. I'd say Palin has a variety of exceptional qualities and accomplishments that qualify her for that list, but like you, she wouldn't be on mine either. Then again, neither would Bill Gates.
the only one that shouldnt be there is oprah. in reality she has done almost nothing for americans or society in large. she has also done very little in terms of giving donations but she is good at creating the perception she does a lot
Totally agree. Condi is an incredible woman. I strongly suspect we will see her back in politics at some point. Shes very young still. True, but Oprah built an empire from very little. Around these parts, that earns a person a lot of respect. Michelle Obama has an impressive educational resume, but that's about it. Many, many, unknowns with her pedigrees and then some. Never elected to office, never built a business. Sorry if I don't give big props just for being the Presidents wife. I strongly admire Laura Bush, but I wouldn't put her on the list either.
It was a poll of Americans, not Islamists from Buttfuckistan. It was heartwarming to see Condi's name on the list.
