I seen alot of these android tablets for sell on ebay costing about $100 and some a little more. I'm considering getting one of theme bust want some feedbacc from others first. To me the tablets seem mostly like an oversized phone with really no phone capabilities. I was thinking of getting one of those for my daughter as well. Especially since they have market can get tons of useful apps and games. Are they really worth it though or is it just a nice toy for book lovers? Can I get some of you uses and/or experiences with them?
I have an iPhone, and for reading ebooks, I would prefer a Kindle. From what I hear, you can read in the sun with that, which you can't with an iPad. So Kindle for me. An iPad would be fun to have, if I won one or got one as a gift. I will not buy one myself.
If you are planning on getting one for your daughter, then I suggest you get an iPad, she would love it.. as there are tons of free apps for kids to enjoy. Since iPad 2 is on the verge of getting launched, you will find more discount on iPad.
I guess you are talking about what they call an apad. Those $100 apads were mostly made in China with a very low RAM. My brother got one and would like tothro it after tinkering with it for a day.
IPAD better because of my advice is great for school children. Ipad appropriate for your child and a lot of uses
My suggestion is to wait until the market matures a bit. With the Playbook and the Xoom coming out soon - those two are where things are heading. If you want something now, go for either a Samsung Galaxy or Archos tablet
The $100 tablets are no good. Like the previous poster mentioned, you will want to throw it against a wall after trying to use it for a few days. If you have to get something now, get an iPad, otherwise wait for the market to develop and see some real competition.
Hi! I have seen this thread by accident and thought my post a quick reply. I am selling some of these epad/apads online. You may check my signature. many of my buyers have complained about the 7" apad/epad tablet pc quality. And I also have talked with the factory and they also confirmed me that the quality is really bad on these 7" devices. But the 10" tablets... they are great. No one until now has complained about it. They have many features from the original Ipad, and even more. They have a GPS antena, support HD Video, have a HDMI port to connect to your HD TV, WIFI, etc, etc. The 10" tablet PC is a very good replacement of the Ipad. And it costs about 400$ less. Only 200$. It has a powerful1GHz proccesor with 256 mb ram. Now this is more than enough for almost all the operations that can be done on it. This has the performances of a computer. And until now, I have sold more than 50 of them, and no one complained. But on that cheap 7" epad/apads, many people complained. Hope my reply helped you.
iPad is great, others might not share the same view with me. But for me I see it differently, iPad has a decent screen size and is smoothing for the eyes to read mails, surfing, etc. Other tablets might be pocket size and more portable but they are just way too small for proper reading!
it's all going to depend on how useful they end up being. Personally I'll be watching to see how durable they are and how well suited they are to be used as a infield service manual.
I have read a lot of complaints online about these Chinese knock-offs. First of all, they are not being honest when listing them on Ebay. For instance, I just chatted with someone from Australia who bought the EPad. He said that the OS it it was Android 1.1 and not Android 2.1 as described by the seller. In my opinion, nearly everything coming out of China is pure junk. Save your money and be patient-there will be better tablets coming soon that don't cost an arm and a leg like the iPad which I think is terribly over-rated. It weighs a ton and you cannot multi-task on the thing.
