Number of sites managed?

What is the number of sites hosted and managed by indivual users? What I am getting at is the number of sites you have AdSense attached and do you find it better to have a collection of sites or focus on just one?

I think it depends on the content. I have only 3 sites right now but am adding to them slowly.

this has to be one of the most common questions asked on DP forums...

and the bottom line? The more sites the better! more sites equals more revenue opportunites, more diversification...

All your domains or "managed" by you? Once you get that many I imagine you have a routine for updating content etc? Is it that easy..I hope to have 30..I'm 30% there now.

    Hi Byron

Yes I am on a dedicated server @ $175.00 per month ( ) as a couple of my sites eat up valuable resources and bandwidth.

    ColinR

Yes all of the sites are managed by myself... though I do have a good friend who is a master developer who on occassion does the real work that I cannot.

The content based sites I update about once a week....

I have about 30% of my sites that are completely automated, so these require little work..

others do not need the content updated due to their niche / category

I think I should also state that I do not rely on search engines to drive traffic... so the issue of updating sites does not really apply to my situation.

    Hope this helps.

I'm with SEM-advance. I've got a decent amount of sites I manage. Use a variety of ways to generate revenue, including membership sites.

I use a several different hosting companies. Not the best idea to keep all your sites on the same server/host.

As for monetization, Adsense is a biggy. I also like to take product datafeeds and do some fun things with it, per niche. I'm not a big fan of Amazon, as they payout sooo low, so I try and look for alternative affiliate sources, either direct or through CJ/Linkshare/etc..

This poll shows the number of web sites for those who are making over $100 a day with Adsense. About 60% of the respondants have 2 or more sites.

First question. Which one of the wiggles are you? Jeff? Greg?

I have a number of sites I have Asense on and will continue to make new sites with Adsense on. It's a way of keeping up with the cost of living.

I have a half dozen big sites, I launch about 1 new "big site idea" every 6 months or so, and I have about 200 small sites that I work on for half an afternoon, put it up, and forget about it. Some of the small ones make money, others don't; since hosting costs almost nothing, I don't mind leaving it there for years and years to age the domain.

So, everyone is spilling out information about themselves here and making themselves vulnerable to adversaries.

Ok, I'll join in:D I've got a low double digit number of high earning sites (none have adsense on them:p).

Sem-Advance, it's a considerable risk if you are hosting all those sites solely on one server...
