The was directed towards anyone that would question/criticize our president's actions. I mean, what do they think this is- some kind of democracy or something?
I didn't say not to question/criticize I said just stand by his side. I question and criticize some of his actions but I still support him.
I don't really feel like getting into it because there will be no end. I was just giving my two cents.
Don't sweat it bud. It was probably one of the best posts this thread has seen yet. Some of us got it. (nice post!)
Again, don't sweat it. With some of the people on DP you could make a claim that wheels are round and someone here would find a way to dispute it.
What if his actions got NYC toasted into ashes? Would you respect him then? The point is, by supporting him no matter how much he fucks up - you're letting him get away with it and saying its ok - which is WRONG.
He wouldn't get "NYC toasted" on purpose, so yes I would still respect him. Like I said I don't feel like debating it because it gets us no where. No matter what I say you will still hate the president and no matter what you say to me I will always take a bullet for the president. I guess it's just how I was raised.
Actually what yo-yo fails to admit is the fact that "thanks to President Bush", NYC (and the entire US) has NOT been toasted since 9/11. Now there's something you've gotta respect.
Bigrollerdave: We are each entitled to our own perspectives on that topic. As for those that agree and like the thought...such as Mia....I guess you'd support Clinton no matter which intern he'd take a fancy to.
That's very respectable. I completely understand your position even if I'm glad that not everyone feels the way you do. In many ways, my views on the subject are just the opposite. It often bothers be when non-Americans bash the US because I think they're often doing it out of ignorance and their criticisms are not constructive. They pick out everything that they see that they feel is bad about America but don't put forth an effort to try to see how much better the world(and their life) is because of America(I may get bashed for saying that, ironically, through the use of technology and internet infrastructure that American enterprise is largely responsible for). But when American's bash/criticize our government and its leaders(and even our culture/society in general) I think it can very often be a good thing. I mean, our country was forged, in large part, from a distrust of its leaders. It is essential that we have dissenters whenever our government does things of great consequence or makes unprecedented changes in policy. Even if the accusations and/or views of the dissenters seem to have no basis; some level of internal turmoil is a very healthy thing for us. I think it is, in no small part, what makes us great. Having said that, I think we still need those who would be loyal to the end, no matter what, like you. It's very respectable and I don't want to come off like I'm criticizing you or trying to debate you because I'm not. I'm just offering my views as well, because it's such an important issue.
That is because Bush toasted the US on 9/11 Be very sure that if the US needs toasting again to further the agenda it will be done. PNAC will see that everything turns out as they want it.
See if everyone talked/posted like that then there would be no problems, rather then people just saying "ohh I hope bush dies". You posted your thoughs in a professional manner and backed it up. I can see where you're coming from too. I hate it when non Americans bash the US or our president, but since we have the best country in the world people get a little jealous and start to hare on us.
Of course I would and did. Had Hugo come over and called BC the devil and made stench comments, I would have been just as disgusted. Ripping on the President of the US and the office of the president just to bitch about it serves no purpose other than showing the world that some people never grow up. I may not have liked BC's policys or his inability to protect American, but I sure as hell did not resort to name calling, pandering, and whinning like a little bitch like every liberal moon bat on the planet has done with Bush since the get go. No, I have respect for the office and the President, no matter who he/she is. There in lies the difference between the rational and logical, and the moonbat and emotional.
Ohh I know don't get me wrong I think everyone is entitled to their own thoughts. I'm just saying You may hate Bush or what not but that's no reason to disrespect our country or the president. You can disagree with something or someone without being disrespectful just look at edD's post. He is disagreeing with what I have to say but he is being respectful about it.
