Ok, this is just crazy. But i tried very hard to get 2k followers on twitter and as soon as i passed the 2k i just let it be. Its been about a week now and I realized my follow count and followers count has risen up to 2400 + followers and 2600 + followers. I am happy this is happening, but why would this happen? I'm confused not sure to be scared or just happy lol.
What? To update you guys, well my followers and following list has been continuing to rise and I have done nothing at all... This is strange to me... Anyone got any ideas whats going on?
since you work hard to get more follower without any tricks ... that's the real people who follow you so if you have good information on your twitter account that they might like, they will keep flowing you that's just the way it is for popular twitter account
Yes, This may be true, however if this was true wouldn't that mean only our twitter followers would be growing and not the number of people our twitter account is following?
You have probably unknowingly and unintentionally done what I consider the best practice - you have worked hard in making a presence on Twitter by following relevant and genuine people in your niche, and you have been updating your profile regularly, and now you are reaping benefits . I have one account on Twitter where I promote certain types of products, and after 5k followers there I stopped promoting this account. However, after few months, it now lays on steady 10k followers, and all I was doing was posting 10-15 relevant tweets throughout the day and interacting with people. It's important to understand that I don't use and hardcore Tweet automation tools or any of that nonsense which only gets you messy and irrelevant followers. Internet marketing IS some hard work, but when you work both smart and hard results can be astounding. Twitter still works, guys, don't let someone tell you differently.
sounds like what ever you are doing is working for you - more followers means more people getting your messages
Once you cross, you start getting lots of authorities from twitter. but be careful, spam usually starts following you. You shouldn't follow them.
If you are not doing nothing wrong there is no need to worry. Are you updating your twitter account on regular basis?
This started happening with me at about 400-500 followers on my RateTea twitter account. I'm now up to 740 followers in spite of tweeting much less often and putting much less effort into networking on twitter. Based on this experience, I suspect that in my case, activity definitely did not cause it. I'm not 100% sure exactly what caused it. In likelihood I think that in my case, it was a number of factors. About the time I noticed it was when twitter implemented the new "Who to follow" features, and I suspect that this played a large role in it. I think this feature helped in two ways: it helped new users find me to follow, but it also helped me find people to follow who were tweeting about relevant things and who were networked in with other users I tweet with (and thus likely to follow back). I followed well over 100 new people as a result of this feature and nearly all of them followed me back. Also, traffic on my tea site has been way up and growing quickly in recent months, and this could have helped new people find my twitter account, although the link to it is buried on the about page. I suspect that this isn't the explanation though, because my facebook following only increased very slightly during the same period, slower than the growth in traffic. I also think a multiplier effect may be coming into play here. I think that when you have more followers, there's some degree to which you are seen as more reputable. Possibly more importantly, you're seen as reputable when certain key people follow you. For example, my ratetea account is now followed by an overwhelming majority of tea companies and prominent tea bloggers. A tea company viewing my profile probably sees: "Wow, how have I missed following this user?" whereas a year ago they would have seen my account and thought: "Who the heck is this user?" What may be happening is that you have a niche and that you are starting to become well-connected. When you pass a critical point, the "tipping point" so to speak, all the other people who aren't connected with you rush to connect with you: when they see your account they now see you as reputable and rush to connect with you.
Hey, Thanks for the awesome tips! I believe you Twitter following is raising by itself, because you put a lot of hardwork into getting it to that 2k mark the natural way. You didn't use and cheap tricks or automation tools you just continued to promote quality tweets and built a presence for yourself. Now you don't even have to tweet as much because you already have a nice following to retweet your tweets and mention you. That is the awesome thing about Twitter. If you really build your following the natural way it will start growing on it's own. I'm starting to notice my following growing on it's own a little, because ill wake up in the morning and have a couple new followers. You should be happy that you have reached a point where your following will only continue to grow, because that only open more doors for you buddy. I can't wait till I get my first 1k followers, then I will really feel like I'm getting somewhere. My goal is to get 100 new followers every month. Then before the end of the year I should be at a thousand. After the first 1k I sure my following will grow on it's own. Just my 2 cents. God bless, William Veasley
