We are glad to announce a number of updates at the service: we have improved the site style and reworked file manager.

There are more details about the changes in ‘File Manager’ section below:

1. ‘Inactive Files’ section (available for free account owners) was renamed into ‘Soon To Be Deleted’, it still contains a list of files without recent downloads that are to be removed within a month (if not downloaded at least once).

2. ‘Deleted’ and ‘Blocked’ sections were joined, since the files from both them are not active.

3. Each known file type has its own icon, an icon is displayed next to a file name.

4. Link export tool was not changed, though got a new name - ‘Get Links’. Using this feature you can specify the desired export file format.

5. According to multiple requests, we have implemented a folder system where you can create first-level folders, edit their names (by clicking Pen icon when choosing a folder) and easily move files to the folders.

6. Now it is possible to copy files. When making a copy of a file, it gets a new unique code applied with an appropriate icon set up.

7. Labels functionality is still available, moreover, it is now much easier to use - all tools to manage labels can be accessed in one ‘Labels’ section. Here you can set up filtration rules, apply or take away labels, and also create/delete labels in a separate window.

8. We have also renewed ‘Edit File’ window style. Please note that when specifying a description of a file, an appropriate icon will be added to the file list.

9. We have implemented a more advanced file search system.

10. There are tips for all buttons, also there is advice displayed on the top of the file manager section.

In the right part under the main menu you can find ‘Usage Statistics’ link that is available for all premium users from any account page. When clicking on the link, there will be a section with 3 parts opened:

1. Disk space - here you can see how much space your files take. According to our rules, in some rare cases an account disk space can be limited. Since such limitation is really uncommon (as a rule, it may happen due to low account efficiency), then almost all accounts have unlimited space.

2. Premium Download Traffic - here you can see the volume of used premium traffic. By clicking on ‘Statistics’ link you will find daily traffic reports. By default, premium traffic is unlimited for all premium users, however each premium plan has a fixed quote set up. E.g., 3-day premium plan implies 200GB of premium traffic, 1-year plan - 3TB (while the price difference with 3-day membership is 10 times). Actually, these quotes should be more than enough for the most of the premium users.

3. Direct Download Traffic - the option is a new for our premium users. Since today when obtaining a specific premium membership, there is an appointed direct download traffic quote added to the account. Consequently, premium users will be able to distribute their files directly - that means that a person who gets a file direct link from the premium user will be able to download the file with premium speed, bypassing the file download pages. In this case the downloaded traffic amount will be deducted from the account direct traffic balance. If required, it is possible to obtain additional direct traffic with a significant discount. You can find information about direct traffic quotes on the premium purchase site page.

You can activate direct traffic option for a specific file in ‘My files’ section by clicking on a button ‘Hotlink’ or on the file editing page. If the option is active for a file, there is a special icon displayed next to the file in the file manager.

For today we have really good news for our partners. We present a new partner affiliate program - as an alternative to the regular download program our partners can now get 60% of all premium sales. What is important, within the program we take sale amount without any commissions, also we do not descrease your revenue if a refund happens. The only exclusion is that we don’t pay for SMS-payments, however they take a really small part of all sales.

A partner can switch from a download to a ‘60% of sales’ program once he has received at least one 15 USD payout. Once a partner received one payout, he can easily switch the current revenue plan.

You can switch to another program in your partner account, Profile section, ‘Marketing Settings’ area. A new plan will become active the next day, at 00:00 our server time (GMT+1).

In ‘Marketing Settings’ section our partners can also find two new options. The first one - a partner can turn off an ability to obtain a 3-day premium membership for all his files. The second one - a partner can turn off ability to download his files for free, so only premium users will be able to download the files (also it is possible to turn on/off free download possibility for a specific file on the file edit page).

In addition to 60% of sales site/forum owners still can get from 5% of all sales referred from their sites. We are ready to discuss the percent raise with large site owners individually.

You and FileSonic are the only ones that cannot handle remote upload traffic. Is it really that hard to invest in more servers? Investment will pay off surely. I cannot understand it...

Please improve remote. Hosting without good working remote is worth nothing...

 

Sorry for probable delays with remote upload, they may happen when there are lots of files in the queue. Sure, we are working on the servers/hardware improvement, and next year we will add new capacity.
