sescout.com has a free plan but it is limited on the amount of keywords you can track for free. It is a new service.
I track daily, I think it's worth it. However, I don't know if it is all that imperative... it is probably more of a time sinker because it doesn't matter whether you're #10 or #1, you still want to do more link building to either sustain your ranking or build it up some more.
I don't use any keyword tracking tool till now, but i will check it out sescout for keyword tracking tool.
I would not use any rank tracking tools since they can be unreliable. Google rankings fluctuate all the time and the rankings are related to geographic information of the searchers. If you use a rank tracking tool that is located in one location of the country and pull up ranking report, that ranking report can be misleading as they can be different if you were to search from your own location. No need to check rankings everyday. SEO is for the long term. Do your SEO work and let Google make the decision. Check rankings may be every other week.
You can use the google keyword tool. I don't know if I would call it the most wanted tool though. Micro Niche finder is better.
Most useful SEO tools are: 1) Page Rank Checker 2) Backlink Watch's Back Link Checker Tool 3) Similarity Checker 4) Indexed Pages Tool 5) Keyword Density Tool 6) URL Rewriting Tool 7) SEO Chat's Header Checker 8) Back link Checker 9) SearchStatus' Firefox Extension 10)JustSearch's Site Comparison Tool
Hi, I think "rank checker" add-on for Firefox and semrush.com would be the suitable choice. all the best,
Is Google Webmaster tools data not good enough? The new setup for search queries is quite good, you can select dates and it will tell you improvements or amount of positions lost for all search queries.
