Its a hobby for the editor so they will likely continue collecting... and it's an obsessions with many webmasters so they will likely still want the text...
Yes, you are correct. It is an obsession of many webmaster, for real mean. You got the point. Hats off to you.
Well, "no-follow" has nothing to do with PR or backlinks either. Why? Because SEO is exactly what it says: search engines optimization. Translation: building website's HTML code to get the most benefit from search engines placement or SERP. As to "no-follow" it used only by Google and all it says to G. crawlers is not to go to crawl site in that link. It doesn't says ignore link, it says ignore site. Other than that: link is a link is a link. Never confuse SEO with SIM again for your own good. fastreplies
Congrats, I've added mine just few weeks ago not sure it if will be added or rejected. Did you received an email that your site has been listed?
Unfortunately no. I wish they would of. I honestly have no clue how long I've been listed. I guess if I cared enough, I could use waybackmachine.org to see if I can narrow it down. But, thankfully I don't care so much anymore.
Alot of people wanted to be in dmoz and so many hypes around the web. Does anyone even notice any improve in site rankings once they are listed on dmoz? I know that yahoo directory listing does wonders for my 2 of my sites that was listed there.
i have tired so many times for my different sites but results same.i don't know the criteria of accepting the links of DMOZ in last 3 years.
Is there any way to know why dmoz rejects one site? Many directories send email with the cause, but dmoz does not.
No we do not send any emails. There is enough heat generated when we do not review a site for some years, let alone if we tell people they have been refused. But it is also because the suggest a site is for ANY member of the public to offer us a site that we have not got listed which fits our criteria, it is not just or even primarily designed for webmasters to get their site suggested and listed. remember we collect sites for the end user who wants to search the net using collated and categorised links. We are not in business to build a directory which gives a site any value but to build a directory for the end user and to satisfy our hobby of collecting URL's. We have no interest in adding value to sites or existing for site owners to get their site in a directory. Have a look at the sticky at the top of this section for further information.
Well, even if their is no email sending, it does not matter for me personally. I am neither any webmaster nor any web professional.
You also have no interest in the end user of the ODP (which is yet another site you have no interest in adding any value too). If you did have an interest in the ODP itself, or the end user, then wouldn't it stand to reason you'd actually be doing more? Like letting people know when there is a problem? I mean, the ODP IS a service (just a bad one based on editors like yourself)!
