    Hi,
I used to have a hosting account at Hostupon. In early December, I receive an email from Hostupon stating that the next due date is 20th December 2010. Two days ago, I received an email which states that I was charged $95.40. I had previously canceled the account but I couldn't find the cancel subscription link in the paypal. I click on the details link but I couldn't see any link for me to click and cancel the subscription. I didn't want the account so I ask them for refund.

I opened a ticket and call them. When I call them, they didn't pick up the phone. Instead, they tell me to leave a message. I did left a message. I kept on pinging the ticket but there was no answer. I know there are staffs around because I open duplicated tickets and two of them are closed later. The chat system is not real so I couldn't chat with them.

I remembered how an unprofessional staff at Hostupon tried to persuade me not to cancel the account. He said if I stay with them, he would only charge me $30 instead of $95.40. But I told him I don't want the hosting. This is scam.

I replied on the ticket and say that I will post a bad review if he refuse to refund the money. Immediately after that, he reply on the ticket and ask me to give him the link for the reviews before refunding. I told him I won't write bad reviews and he refunded me.

I just want to say that they are unprofessional. They have good customer service at the beginning. It surprises me that they would cut down the price so low to get me buy the hosting plan again.

if you already cancelled the plan before due date, than I see no problem for you to getting your money refunded back.

Though canceling subscription at your end is your responsibility, but since you cancelled the plan and could not figure out how to cancel the sub, than you should simply request them for a refund and they should refund it without any argument, thats what the good service and support should do

Dispute the fee with PayPal. PayPal will almost definitely side with you. You'll see the host change his ways real fast when they start getting chargebacks. :) Sounds like a scam to me as well.

Paypal has a lot of buyer protection improved lately. You should get your money back by dispute through Paypal. The refund made upon positive or negative review posting is a kind of bribe and dishonest. They should give you a refund without condition since you asked them within a time period.

I think that it will be a good idea to choose another, more stable, responsive and reliable host.
