.info or subdomain?

What would be more effective for a small set of sites I plan to create?

I could buy/register a nice .com and create my sites via subdomain or would it be better to register .info domains?

You can get .net domain as a good alternative.. try to consider also sub-domains.

Is it only just for a few months? Because renewing .info will cost much more that initial registration.
Besides - I really wouldn't be surprised if G had in their algoritm: "if domain is .info and only have few pages -> good chance of being spam"
Most infos I see is MFA crap.
Don't be cheap - invest in .coms ;)

I would prefer a nice short .com and create subdomains.

Chooing a .com and creating subdomains would be preferrabe over .info domain as .com adds your site value as compared to .info :)

I read something in google help forum that you should avoid subdomains. I have some info domains that rank better than com and you should take without problem an info domain
