Do I have control over the ads put on my site?

I just joined adsense and would like to know if I have a choice on the types of ads put on my site? Or do I just go with whatever google puts on there?

Use site targeting, concentrate on your keyword, niche and you will get relevant ads.

 

Thank you for your response but what does it mean? I don't speak techie. Please tell "site targeting" ? concentrate your keywords? how? I could try to fathom a guess but...

You can also ban certain ads from appearing on your site. It is called a Competitive Ad Filter you can find more info at

Essentially Google will pick the ads to be displayed on your site, they will display the most relevant ads to your content, but you do have the ability to filter some of the ads that they are showing on your site. So if your site is about surfing, and they are showing ads about surfing holidays, surf boards, and surf leashes, surfboard wax and surfing babe wallpapers and you decide you don't want any ads displayed about surfing babe wallpapers you can have that ad filtered so that it isn't displayed on your site.

 

For site targetting follow the steps here brother.. Site Targetting When I say concentrate on your keyword content is when your writing has to stay within the content/niche of your site. For example, if my site talks about depression, when I write, my writing has to stay connected to depression, so I can concentrate on depression treatment, depression meds, depression self help techniques, etc.
