    Hi,

I've set up a site a couple of months ago and started doing my thing. Linkbuilding, content writing etc.. and I now ranking at #1 for the big keyword I was going for. I don't rake in many visitors a day with this keyword and therefor dont earn much money with adsense or affiliate.

But I'm wondering.. what can I do now? I'm ranking number #1 and getting the visitors only the niche wasnt as big as I hoped and I can pay my hosting, but thats it.

What can I do next? I can't enlargen my niche and im ranking #1 on all the keywords related to my site. What can I do to improve, how can I earn more money?

Ive been thinking about trying to get advertisers. I do target a specific group of users which might be interesting for some but I get 10(ish) visitors a day.. thats not really interesting for an advertiser right?

Yeah I've did that. There is one I could target but its only 15 searches a month so :p

Yes quality content always matter. Don't forget that 'Content is King' for the website. Also try to target some different keywords.

I think you didn't choose a buyer keyword to promote your site & if you are at #1 that's mean your site will get 50% visitors of total search. Choose buyer keyword to get targeted buyer.

    Thanks for the replies

On my site I have a collection of best fantasy books im sure the content is not a problem. So its just a list of books i recommend with links to different sellers. The conversion is okay, but I get too few visitors.

Is my niche just too small?

Change it to be more general. I.E books in general. Then move onto movies and music.

    getting 49,500 searches a month...

...not to mention that it had only 323 allintitle competitors... just sayin'

Yeah I guess that would work. Have to change domains though! Ill think about it, thanks for the suggestion.
I focus specific on fantasy books, and in dutch. According to the Adwords keyword tool it gets 1600 searches a month but thats no-where near true. Google webmasters said I had 390 impressions on that keyword.

If you're not getting a lot of traffic and you're ranked number one, I'd say that's not a good keyword. Maybe it's the best keyword for that niche. If so, I'd say your niche is indeed too small.

    1.Try different keywords
2.Analyze your competitors site what they are done, and make changes on your site according to that.
    3.Do social media optimization

there are many people who would no develop a site that has less than 500 or so monthly searches. if you onlyhave 20 or so searches then there is really no way to ever make money from your site just because no one searches for the term.
try taking on something much more challenging -then become #1 on google - then you will see a big increase in traffic
