I have a website that is fairly new (around 2 months old) and I have noticed that the pagerank for a while was "No PageRank information available", however at the beginning of this month I noticed that it shows a PageRank of zero. Is it typical of a new site to start at Pagerank Zero? Joseph
Nah mate, that is typical for a new site. It doesn't suggest a toolbar update. When an update occurs, you go from 0 to 2 or whatever.
For new site Google always show no pagerank available but if your site in the list of updating sites in Google so Google will show 0 PR.
Page rank "0" means your site got a page rank from Google, now promote your site as much as you can to increase the rank.
Newly built sites will have a typical PR na or PR0 as the starting rank, but when you start building quality links to it, it'll definitely increase in a given time, or when Google made some updates
Yup. Build up some quality backlinks and you'll see your PR rise. You're past the first step - actually getting the pagerank. Now it's time to build it up.
To increase the Page rank ,link popularity and link quality are important.Avoid doing automatic backlinking to improve PR.Even if PR is zero and there is lot of real traffic then no need to worry of PR.
It is absolute typical. Zero pagerank could happen even with an old aged website without link building and properly search engine optimization applied.
building rank takes alot of time and effort - you need to start building backlinks - find blogs related to your niche and guest comment then also do article submissions and other ways of networking.
Yeah dude. PR is based on the perceived authority / relevance / "worthiness" of your site. A newly-built site is like a baby in the eyes of Google - it still needs to prove itself. Get some backlinks + good content, and it should bump up eventually.
