You have shown here that you don't make the effort to understand what you read.

It seems silly to waste all that money on books when they aren't going to do you any good.

Are there any good Islamist comics?

Ahem. MEMRI has the video in seperate segments. Why do you insist on spreading lies? Does the Koran demand that?

    Ahem. You barely speak Arabic.

According to the native Arabic speaker in the house, MEMRI was not incorrect, but the word is better translated as "infidel."

How can you read the Koran if you don't even understand Arabic?

Except, of course, that this crazy little theory of your has been disproven by a quick check with the Zionist devils at Wikipedia.

Maybe you do, but I never considered spending money on books as "a waste of money".

And where was it implied that the video is "in separate segments"? Why was parts of the show selectively shown and the rest discarded? Should also tell you that the translation for mulhidah is "atheist", not "heretic", and there is a difference between the two in Arabic. Why don't you watch the MEMRI video again and listen carefully to what the Doctor said when he asked Sultan the question of whether she is a mulhidah (MEMRI erroneously translated it as "heretic") or not?

As was mentioned several times on the board, no, I don't. However I do have some understanding of the language, ability to discern the Arabic and several concordances and dictionaries at my disposal if I want to look it up.

Hah, shows how much he/she knows. Arabic for "infidel" is generally translated as kaafir. The word used by the Doctor was mulhidah. Get it?

Oh yeah I've checked Wikipedia but there was no sources backing up the story.

They are if you can't or don't read them -- or if you do nothing but burn them.

It was implied nowhere. It was plainly stated. Again we go back to the importance of reading.

None were discarded. Again, we go back to the importance of reading.

You are arguing with an Arab woman who has been a native Arabic speaker all of her life. Buy yeah, I'm sure that Menji knows best.

Even once more, we go back to the importance of reading.

From Wikipedia, your source for world Zionism:

... says she was shocked into secularism by the 1979 atrocities committed by the Muslim Brotherhood against innocent Syrian people, including the machine-gun assassination of her professor in her classroom in front of her eyes at the University of Aleppo where she was a medical student. "They shot hundreds of bullets into him, shouting, 'God is great!' " she said. "At that point, I lost my trust in their god and began to question all our teachings. It was the turning point of my life, and it has led me to this present point. I had to leave. I had to look for another god."

I don't burn books. And this is all you got, an incident that took place some two years ago? Lame just gets lamer :D

Do not get what you are talking about. If you mean the subtitles it was not mentioned at all nor was it implied anywhere.

And that is where you are mistaken. Very much mistaken. You should try taking that advice you just dished out and apply it to yourself.

Actually I have been arguing with MEMRI whose bigotry and double-standardness are well known to the Muslim population and even to those with half-a-brain to think. With some notable exceptions.

We shall try this again. The Wikipedia entry you cited did not provide any real source for the claim apart from an interview in the NYT. Even then, I find some of the claims fishy. What are the "Muslim Brotherhood" doing in Syria in 1979 (they are based in Egypt)? Why would they suddenly storm a university filled with student with (seemingly) no apparent reason? No information or further background to this was given and I am not stupid enough to buy it.

Hence I find the whole thing dubious. She could have been a Christian in her past lfe, for all we know or care. There are a large number of Christians in Syria and Lebanon anyway.

Menji, our little e-jihadi, I think that the lady has a much better knowledge of what religion she has than you do.

I know, I know, you're a man and she's a woman, but I really think that you should give her this point.

You're just saying that because you cannot accept that she was defeated in debate on the very same show (the transcript reveals all). And that was not because she is a woman.

And by the way, I should clarify that I am not discounting the possibility that she may have been a Muslim before; but from what I have heard she said in interviews and what little is known about her, I find that possibility dubious, at best.

You find it impossible to believe that she came to her senses and abandoned the 14th century for the 21st century?

Funny, I find that really easy to believe...

And no, only a close-minded Islamic terrorist would believe that she was "defeated" in that debate.

Actually I don't find it impossible for born Muslims to stray from the Light and reject God's mercy. I had my run-ins with some of these people in the past. But I find Wafa Sultan's claims of being stormed in a university [!] in Syria [!] by the Muslim Brotherhood [!] extremely fishy. Perhaps if she had come up with a better tale, I might be inclined to believe her.

That's probably because you only relied on the MEMRI video. Now what was that again about "the importance of reading..."?

And here is where I am starkly reminded of a dialogue from a movie that won an Emmy Award where the little girl cried out to the main character, "Run, Forrest, ruunnnn!"
