Hi, my website is www.jeffslot.com I'm not sure how many valid links my site is posted on or the number of backlinks it has. Is there a way i can figure out, and if so what tips can you give to me about backlinks, seo, and my site.

There are many tools to check backlinks behind your site but I personally found yahoo site explorer as a more free useful tool to check backlinks .

Yes, I agree that Yahoo site explorer is a great tool. Google does not show all the links. Have you or someone tried Majestic SEO. It seems to be a bit better because it also provides number of unique domain links to the site. This overcomes the issue of Yahoo showing hundreds of links from one site.

Majestic SEO has the best backlink reporting but it is expensive - prohibitively so (they have their own web crawlers!)

With Yahoo Site Explorer's API now down, many tools which used it no longer function. I have recently created a tool which scrapes the Yahoo site explorer results pages directly, and it can go beyond the first 1000 links too. Sadly though, Yahoo SE does not show the anchor text relating to your backlinks, which is a critical factor in evaluating their relative power.

you can always use a tool to check all your backlinks like backlinkwatch.com or you can check it manually from search engine by typing link:www.yourdomain.com to the search browser of the search engines

This is correct. If your site has a small number of links, any tools is fine. But if you are working for a site that has thousands of back links, Majestic is a safe bet because it also tells you the number of unique domains.
