I would like to sell a rare baseball care from the 70s. Asking $50,000. Thanks for overdoing it on the info!
Hasent an official from Google already stated that .edu links have no preference over .com links? If nto for SEO what is the point of purchasing a .edu name?
I understand that a .edu name cannot be transferred unless it's parent company (the owner) is sold. If this is the case can you PM details to me.
I don't think anybody other than an US educational organization can hold a .edu domain name. Correct me if I am wrong.
There is a way of getting around it with domains registered to corporations before this date. The only way around this though is for the entire corporation to be sold, the domain itself cannot be transferred.
Right the organization needs to be sold. So, EduOrg, Does this auction include the organization also?
If you are not a educational facility.... buying the .edu is worthless. Another issue noted earlier there is no extra value from a .edu link as there is from a .com or any other link. What matters is relevancy...since most websites have little relevancy to education any out bound link to a non relevant website has: Zero value = 0 Save your money and buy some ads that will send traffic...
Actually, the domain does have value if you decide to sell email address's with the name. .edu email address's are worth more because you can sign up to more important things. I wouldnt mind owning a .edu, but i dont want to buy a complex just for one worthless name. Just keep in mind that most people will like .edu email address's and if marketed correctly could be the envy of gmail, microsoft, yahoo and aol. Rob
That value is probably no lesser or greater than any other aged TLD Can you clarify your comments as I have never heard of such a thing....you cannot register for important things with a plain ISP email address?? I have seen some .edu things you can only sign up for if you are a college student, but none of it is what could be classified as important.....it's just a method of targeting the audience and segregation.
The only .edu email address advantage is the ability to register into student only services. Even in that case, most companies or organizations will check the validity of the institution. So it's pretty much pointless.
