I am researching on seo on domain extension, wondering if someone can shed some light. Is the domain extensions like .com .net .org .cc .info a factor for rankings in search engine?

Means, does iamgod.com has higher probability of advantage in rankings in google over iamgod.info? In terms of "I am god" keyword.

what abt i-am-god.com is it better than iamgod.info?

yes it has big impact on the geo graphical target you want to set. if you want to target global audience then you must have top level domain like ( .com , .net or .org ) if you want to target audience in specific one country then you should go for country specific domain like .uk . .co.uk and all

Geographic Oriented Results are a facture set within Google's Webmaster Tools giving the Com vs. Info scenario an even outcome. But to people, the COM has a major impact as it is perceived to have more authority.

First things first - I think a site with better content with .info extension can rank way better than a site on a similar topic with content not as good, and with .com extension. So clearly one should be concentrating on content quality rather than the domain extension.
A .com domain can prove beneficial in some cases like, users inadvertently typing domain.com to look for a site for which they might not know the exact url.
