Please search for 'underscores or hyphens' - this is the most discussed and answered SEO topic on this board.

    _http://www.search.com/Search-Engine-Marketing.php_ , is better I think.

note: without the _ , I just had to put them due to my member status

Dashes are better.. underscores never made much of a difference. But then again, I don't really think it makes much of a difference anymore. The algo have changed so much over the years it's silly to argue over this topic. Just stick with dashes and kick the underscore to the curb.

I'd go with dashes too. underscores are more annoying to type than a dash, which may sound stupid but things like that matter to your site visitors.

It doesn't really matter. Search engines parse them both equally as spaces.
I really prefer to use underscores in URLs rather than hyphens, just because the DMOZ does it and they get such high rankings. :p

    haha TOPS30 :)

anyway, I think it probably mattered a great deal at some point but I don't see any advantage for any SEO to value one more than the other at this point... unless of course they want to be tricksy and make underscores more valuable since they've been telling us to use dashes for years. ;)
