There are no real solutions, as long as we allow humans to live. However, if you look at the facts you will see that laws which reduce the number of firearms in the hands of law-abiding citizens increases violent crime. I don't see a big problem with guns everywhere. Hell, I can barely move around the house here without tripping over them and we don't have a lot of violent crime here in the house. It's people that are the problem. Got a cure for that?
That's right! We should have the right to arm bears though! Stop the killing of bears! Power to bears!
but many of us law abiding citizens don't have guns by choice. Not everyone feels the need to have one and some probably shouldn't and that is fine with me that not everyone has one.
If you don't like guns, good for you but don't make everyone else agree with you through legislation.
Hmmm.... reread my post, because you seem to have missed what I said and you think I disagree with you on the 2nd amendment.
math20 is over here advocating we let 12 years old buy and carry around any kind of gun they want. How many school shootings have we had this month?
People have the right to bear arms. I don't think that entails allowing children to run around with guns, math.
Although I think they should be privatized, schools can make rules regarding what students and faculty can and cannot bring into class. Many people who went to my school hunt and own guns with parental consent. Parents have no say over what their children purchase? Store owners cannot have regulation on who purchases what?
The high school I went to in Idaho, it was very common to see rifles in trucks during hunting season. I am sure that has changed since it has been over 17 years ago. Never felt any threat by those kids with guns (14-18) but when I see a hunter in Oregon I am fearful since they are usually drunk - 30 year olds drunk with guns don't hit the right targets! I think they should give these guys an equivalent to a DUI if they have a gun and are drunk = too many innocent people have been shot at or shot by them. The scariest is the idiots driving a p/u with guns out the windows and a beer in hands out in the woods. Like they are even going to see a deer let alone hit one. The closest thing they will hit is a tree or person.
No, I want to see parents start parenting and take responsibility for raising shit head kids. I don't want to be regulated because someone else failed to raise their children to be responsible and left them alone long enough to commit a crime. I find it amazing how easily people forget what the real problem is when the word "gun" is put on the table with the word "kid". How many crimes did your kid commit to get my gun because you were failing as a parent?
It's illegal to hunt deer from a moving vehicle. No Person Shall: • Hunt any wildlife from a motor-propelled vehicle. Exceptions: 1) A qualified disabled hunter may obtain an “Oregon Disabilities Hunting and Fishing Permit†to hunt from a motor-propelled vehicle except while the vehicle is in motion or on any public Rd or hwy, or within Cooperative Travel Management Areas. 2) Landowners and their agents can shoot predatory animals from motorized vehicles on land they own or lawfully occupy. • Communicate information on the location of game mammals from an aircraft. • Hunt within 8 hours after having been transported by helicopter or fixed-wing aircraft to any point other than an established airport adequate for fixed-wing aircraft. • Shoot at pronghorn antelope from a point within 50 yards of a motor-propelled vehicle, including aircraft. Exception: A qualified disabled hunter may obtain an “Oregon Disabilities Hunting and Fishing Permit†to hunt from a motor vehicle except while the vehicle is in motion or on any public Rd or hwy, or within Cooperative Travel Management Areas. • Hunt or harass animals from snowmobile, ATV, or passenger vehicles. • Operate a snowmobile or ATV while carrying a loaded firearm or a bow unless all arrows are in a quiver. Note: A loaded firearm is one having live ammunition in a magazine, clip, or chamber (violation of ORS 821.240 is a Class B traffic violation). • Cast an artificial light from a motor vehicle while in possession of a weapon; or cast an artificial light upon a game mammal, predatory animal, or livestock from within 500 feet of a motor vehicle while in possession of a weapon. Exception: Landowners or their agents hunting predatory animals on land they own or lawfully occupy.
We can both agree on that! Also agree. That's why we need laws to keep kids from buying guns or carrying them (which we already have) which math20 seems to oppose.
I have a 12 pack of beer in my house. I have a car in the driveway. By some of the anologies here, I should have my car taken away. What kind of moron thinks like this?
Agreed. This is one of the key areas I disagree with the left. I'm for lose gun laws (I think Az has some of the least strict ).
I know, but some don't seem to know. I guess these are 'dem rednicks, dat gif birt to kidz like yoyo. I have seen it and it is scary, the worst part was I was camping with my family in a free camping area thats just in the woods and I couldn't believe my eyes. It was like something out of a movie, they really did have the guns hanging out the windows and beers in their hands. 3 guys in an old pickup.
