Lol scam If you get something like this then its obviously a scam, 1 i doubt paypal need any money from you! they make enough! Also, his names Jonathan Brown, yet his email is jonathand@... Not to mention TLD of europe.com, why wouldn't it be sent from @paypal.com ? Don't fall for any scams like this, paypal would never ask you for money!
hey i received this now and i was going to hit "pay" but suddenly thought googling for this and i landed here. This is a big scam. We have to complaint this to paypal and his email id must be banned from paypal.
I received it too and was about to open a new thread here before I came across this thread Well, thats obviously a scam and from now on, I'm not gonna pay attention to this kind stuff I'm shouting LOL
You'll get these often, many times if you follow a link there it will take you to something like http:// paypalDOTpayspatDOTcom/blah_something/somethingthatdoesn'tlookscamoriented You'll notice that it isn't a paypalDOTcom site, and especially isn't https. PayPal is a secure site with https and will always be at paypalDOTcom More importantly, if it isn't from a @paypalDOTcom email, ignore it. Keep in mind though that it is extremely simple to make it so any email show as @paypalDOTcom in the from section of emails. If you're on ebay you'll get many of them also. Just never sign in from links in an email. Always type in wwwDOTpaypalDOTcom and you should be safe. Also, paypal would mention it in your account summary page. On a more literal note though. PayPal doesn't need to ask anyone who has an account with them for money, they can just take it. Not legally by removing it from your account, but that can freeze your account and all of it's funds instantly for any reason they please. From that point, it would be extremely easy for them to hold it for a month, or 6 months. 6 months is the longest they can hold your money though. At that point, they give it back to the account in paypal. Long story short. If you have money in PayPal, they own you. So be careful with them, they're the king scammer haha **EDIT** Sorry about the "DOT" instead of periods. I am new and cannot post links, so I was trying to get this posted lol
Always remember this, it will help you tell a scam/phishing email from a real paypal email. That ALL paypal emails to you will ALWAYS use your name! Not your email address. If you get an email address and it does not give your name, it is NOT from paypal. Now, these scammers/phishers do not get your email from paypal! They send them out to all emails they can get their hands on, from lists, and from harvester. Knowing that a good percentage of emails they send to are also emails used for paypal. Again, and I can not say this enough: Real paypal emails will be addressed to your NAME. And as a backstop whenever you get any paypal email? DO NOT CLICK ON ANY LINKS IN THE EMAIL!!!!! Go and enter the paypal url in your browser and make sure it goes to https://www.paypal.com or https://paypal.com
I got the email too and I've forwarded it to . If you want to report fake email, forward it to What's pathetic is the scammer is trying to scam you for only $5.lol
Paypal asking for money is like a bakery asking for bread. Does not mean they could not run out of it but it's very highly unlikely. And for anyone who received this, did you receive it straight into your inbox and not the junk mail?
Thats a new way to get scammed, I think people should work hard for getting money why to scam others hard earned money?
I got this exact same email in my inbox just yesterday. I'm a "thmart" guy and I didn't click on it, but I can't say the same for my "darling" son. He clicked on it and we got hacked QUICK. Don't fall for this one. It seems harmless, but it's definitely NOT.
