True or not (and I suspect not on a purely technological basis), you guys still couldn't do the work locally regardless of the reason. Quit whining about something you had to buy.

You seem confused. France would be a legitimate competitor on things like Aircraft, but probably not China. Spiffs and kickbacks on negotiations are quite common, so I'm still trying to figure out what kind of point you are making.

Tell that to millions of people in Africa who didn't die from AIDS due to US Charity(taxpayer money), handed out by your favorite leftist, George W. Bush.

Again, you've confused the best interests of US Corporations with the best interests of Americans. Personally, I believe globalization is good for everyone including Americans, if it is done right. You still need to wake up and smell reality. Now that we have your country dependent on money from US outsourcing and US Jobs, we pretty much hold the light switch to your economy. All the outsourcing you could provide to all the other countries combined would not come close to matching the portion of your GDP we account for. I don't know how you are used to doing business where you come from, but where I come from, trash talking your business partners is bad for business. That doesn't seem too tough of a concept to grasp, does it?

Several countries sell aircrafts and China makes cheap electrical equipment, contracts went to GE and Boeing because we did jobless Americans a favor, in return of other favours. We don't do Charity either.

Tell that to the children who were subjected to harmful drug trials by US drug companies in Nigeria and denied rightful compensation. And its not Charity, US doesn't do charity. NO country does. I bet when America strikes deals for such aids they make sure they get more in return directly or indirectly.

    It works both ways.

And please make no mistake, its not all Americans, just a certain lot and their supporters I'm trash talking...

So now you consider any business deal a favor? I thought you argued that we bought the deal with aid money in the previous post. You should sort out your position on this issue before trying to present it, or it comes out all garbled. The fact remains, India needed products produced by Boeing and GE. That you chose to buy them from us over France does not make it charity.

And I bet a magic man holds the planet afloat by an invisible string and magic donkeys grant small children wishes. Why don't you try and back up your allegations with some facts. Something other than unrelated information about a private company doing drug trials in Nigeria. Here are some links on US aid to Africa that saved millions of lives. Go find me the links that tell us what we got out of the deal.

No, when you support the release of classified documents meant to damage US war efforts in Afghanistan and kill those who support those efforts, you undermine America as a whole, not some small subset of Americans.

It's a cultural difference. Helvetti sits at his computer built on microchip technology invented at Texas Instruments using an op system designed in Redding employing server technology made in the USA to type notes in English in a US based forum so he can make a buck... but he still calls Americans "pussies".

Yeah, the world would be a far better place without the bad old US. Never mind that without US technology and markets he'd probably be making trips to some village well on foot to draw fetid water to refresh his goat herd... in his peer group this clueless behavior probably qualifies him as a "rugged individualist".

    Rob/BlueStar:

Thanks very much for the clarifications. I didn't even notice Helvetti was responding to things you guys never said.

So you're claiming that the CIRUS reactor fled Canada to escape persecution? :p

Or are you claiming that Germany shipped those Jews to the U.S. for the purposes of aiding the U.S. nuclear program?

Your idea of "similar" appears to require a lot of "fact free" thinking.

The U.S. government is the largest charity on Earth. Some people approve of that behavior, others disapprove of that behavior -- but it's not honestly debatable that this behavior exists.

Apparently the message about naming informants has either gotten through or was never a real issue in the disclosed documents.

The people of Peru now have a perspective in print that otherwise was at most speculation and now confronted with the allegation the General may clear his name accordingly or if guilty, how many lives may be saved by WikiLeaks for his removal....WikiLeaks and the momentum for open gov't is performing the valuable service all should be thankful for.

You apparently didn't read the story you posted. I'll quote the first sentence for you, "A leaked U.S. diplomatic message reporting speculation ..."

Almost all of these leaks have been nothing but gossip and speculation. It must be a slow news year, or the media is trying to give Obama a break by not reporting on the economy.

Zelaya is a jackass who only escaped with his life due to the kindness of his opponents. However, this does serve as an example of the type of "data" that is being "leaked". This, like almost all the rest of it, is nothing more than internal office gossip and speculation.

Except for the names and other identifying information for indigenous resources which WikiLeaks released earlier, I'm not seeing anything worthy of notice.

The people are able to decipher for themselves the content of the leaked information, the source it is coming from though is the difference than from a tabloid. It is serving the desired purpose of WikiLeaks which is disseminating information it acquires from legitimate sources, in this case gov't officials into the public forum.

So from you'd have other living in misery so long as your ass sits on a WC of gold . Nice one dude .

Civilians getting killed in a war ? OMFG that's unbelievable . I mean only soldiers die in a war , that's why civilians have no fear for war .

So why didn't you bought your sticks from China ?

And by that globalisation India has Internet , but that was in the interest of the US . Right ?

I'd call it buying the best military tech money can get you .

Again why wouldn't a economist buy the cheapest fighters ? Maybe cuz they are crap ?

Yes corporate greed is due to US government policies . The trials where in no way a failure of the local authorities .

Cool , the contract is back for grabs ;)

When did I say is charity? I said it was a favor in return of a favor and specifically said (and you qouted) its not charity. Seems pointless arguing to you if you are going to twist and lie.

I know how the world works. You and spencer along with the cowboy would be the first ones to stick a bargepole in GWB's ass if he was giving away your billions for nothing, the fact remains that with each passing year and with each extra dollar in aid it is becoming easier and easier for American companies to do business in Africa and exploit its people and resources. All countries do the same including India. China apparently leads the way. You are either too ignorant if you don't realise that which I don't think you are or you are just being dishonest for the sake of argument and fulfilling your propaganda missions.

I don't need a certificate from a rightwinger. Countless Americans are against war and for wikileaks, incase you didn't know wikileaks runs on donations and I'm pretty sure Americans give a big chunk of that. I'm with that. A person with extreme opinions like you certainly doesn't get to decide how pro-america they are.

Lying again? Show me where did I say Americans are pussies? I have said that people of a certain lot are bad/pussies but I have never made a blanket statement like that...and you know it. Lying and deceit is the only way people like you can debate.

Out of the two of us, YOU are the one who is an ingrate. You believe/imply that the entire world should be thankful to the US. Whenever anyone criticizes any thing that US does your only argument is that we should stop since US did @#$%^& for us. BS. 17% employees of Intel are Indians and there's a good chance that the chip you use has significant contribution from some of them. I don't think anything American companies do for us we should be grateful for, the world has its own contribution in them and moreover we pay for that and put food on your tables. I don't even ask you to be grateful for anything me or my countrymen do for you. Nor will the only premise of my argument if you criticize India be, how much we have done for you. It just doesn't work that way. Americans have had significant contribution along with the ROW in where we all are today in both a positive and negative way. The fact that there's something positive should not stop any of us from criticizing negative contribution. So shut up now? All of you.

Are you claiming that whichever country had contribution in our nuclear program did so knowingly and on purpose?

    WTF?

    1) I critisized US government policy
    2) Rob comes and tells me that US gives aids to India
    3) You "agree" and add a stupid claim that US "helped" us obtain nuclear bomb...and the day we tested them tried to have us give them up.
    4) Rob adds on and you "agree" that all help should be cut-off since we don't side with you and critisize things we think are worth critisizing, read: you are ungreatful.
    5) You deny saying any of that.
    6) Will Spencer has a OMFG moment.

It appears that this is exactly what you were saying: India should be grateful to US and not criticize them because they "helped" us build nuclear bombs

Thats twice this has happened in this thread so far.

US asked us to buy sticks from them because they are going through a recession and passed on other favors in return. We didn't do charity nor did they.

Google, Yahoo etc earn cool millions from India. Contradict me if you have legitimate figures, or drop it.

If you think, France and Russian fighters are crap then you need to rethink.

When did I say that? BTW the companies used spying and blackmailing as tools to get out of the 6 billion $ lawsuit (criminal and civil) denying the effected children rightful compensation and punishment to the guilty. All this was in knowledge of US government as in the leaked cables but they decided to sit on their hands and let them get away. Dude you aren't a republican, you don't HAVE TO defend a side just because you chose it w/o knowing the facts. Jump the fence.

The right way to describe what happened is that you would need to include a few more words. I will do it here :

It appears to me that this is exactly what you were saying: India should be grateful to US and not criticize them because they "helped" us build nuclear bombs

Those two words in Blue show that your understading of what I said is lacking. I never said what you said I said. All I said is what I said. I have the distinct feeling that if my first sentences about the USA helping India with the nukes was misunderstood, that this paragraph will be obliterated... but here is hoping I am wrong. :)

    Clearly.

At least the last part's true... and admittedly I oughta start tipping waiters better.

Fwiw I did tell the guy "Thanks" when he added ice to the Slurpie machine last week.

Yes, Nehru suits were awesome, and in fairness India gets partial credit for the phrase "Holy Cow Batman!". I'll add more if I think of anything.

So by "along with the rest of the world" you're putting us on a similar footing with your cattle worshipping peers? Mighty generous.

    ROFL. You wish. :p

You have been on this thread for 35 minutes, I bet you tried to actually give a constructive reply for 34 minutes but gave up in the last minutes and posted this gibberish. And ease off on the cattle and pork worshiping, I eat both of them and the only offending thing here is that a christian would choose to club me with the religious. Again, out of the two of us, YOU are the only one who believes in such mumbo-jumbo. You can go screw off with Mary mother of god now.

It's a cultural difference. Robberjones sits at his computer built on microchip technology invented at India Development Center using an op system designed in Bangolore employing server technology made in the USA to exchange emails hosted on servers in India so he can make a buck... but he still calls Indians to be grateful to him.

ROFL. FTR, the microchip was invented at Texas Instruments... not in the upholstered outhouse where you reside, and when ya gotta use a term created by Menj to try and insult me you're just admitting you're outta ammo. Ask him how well that worked out.
