In local search engine optimization, you are guaranteed a greater chance to get to the top of search engine lists. A lot of people do not realize that local SEM is way better since you do not get to spend that much financial capital. Most large companies pay SEO services and that usually leads to added capital but longer time for return of investment. Local search engine marketing is simply aspiring to put your business and website on top of local search engines for people near your area to notice it. It is pretty rational if you think your business can flourish or even depend locally. As a whole, you kind of limit the coverage and target visitors for your site but at the same time optimizing it to gain sure traffic without that much competition.
Hmm, but of course, once you're on top on local search, it will always be a good idea to expand your targeting through scalable search marketing. PPC for local is good, but I'd still suggest to rank for organic search, since it's for long term.
Google has already implemented the local search without you knowing. If you're logged into a google account, type in "web design" and your results will be targeted to your demographic.
Traffic varies depending on the location and niche - and highly targeted = higher conversions. Really all that matters to a business is sales. A buttload of traffic is worthless if the conversion rate it not there
I am looking for some tips for local SEO for an insurance company who wants to be found in a 30 mile radius, I cannot put them in the other town directories because of the address/zipcode of their establishment. I am in the process of doing articles with targeted keywords, blog posts, forum and blog comments, any other ideas to hget in the local search results without the exact zipcode?
Sure Carin The first stop would be Google Places (if you have not already done so) - that allows you to specify the 30 mile radius as the area that business can serve The next step is to find online/offline directories and classifieds that cover the broader area and get your client listed there too. After that I would call your local council to find out what directories and websites they endorse - that will give you more local directories to list on. This last tip I will give you is kind of a "secret weapon" that most marketers forget about.... talk to local community groups! Neighborhood watch, local politicians, schools, etc. The reason you approach those groups is that they often have newsletters and fundraisers that you can sponsor - for a few bucks to help cover the cost of photocopying newsletters you can get your clients business plastered on that local groups website, newsletter, on ads for their events, etc. Do not underestimate how effective advertising/sponsorship can be with these small local groups - they tend to be extremely loyal, it gets your client publicity AND it helps build that clients reputation as a strong supporter of their local community. This is an excellent way of getting long term local customers.
local seo means everything is focused on your local topics, such as people, news, information! then google will focus your site as certain local important ones.
but if you do optimization of your site for international market, you will get rank on local market as well.
I have run Local Campaigns specifically to test whether or not to include CITY/LOCATION in the keyword or if G assumes this from your IP. Results: both variations gave me clicks. I now do it both ways.
