For the moment bing is growing, since bing as merged with yahoo
it's bigger, and try to improve itself.
Maybe one day, but for the moment google is better.

I think a NEW power will enter the search engine scene during those 5 years some people mention. An unforeseen start up with a good vision. Perhaps more will come out about privacy issues with some of the other search engines, or one of the big ones makes a bad move and some other company will take the fleeing masses.

I think any new unforeseen search engine's rise means more of a loss for Google because their target audience is usually a bit more firefox/chrome using savvy users rather than the less savvy internet explorer, bing users. I think microsoft may maintain their users or slightly grow it, while Google gets cut in half.

So you're saying 65% of internet users use Firefox/Chrome?
    And loses to whom? Anonymous?

Any competitor to Google must offer something Google does not. You can't do the same thing Google does and expect to gain anything.

I have observed that people did not like the terrible changes made by google. So if google will keep continue making these kinds of changes any smart player like Msn would get time and opportunity to beat it..

I used to be a Bing fan, now I'm not so sure. It started out really great (perhaps because there was a lot of human editing in place) but now the quality seems to be declining.

And also, they are making some fundamentally dumb errors.

For example, if you search for a domain name (with the .com at the end) it will show you results for the words comprising the domain.

No good. I've put .com at the end. I'm looking for info about that domain, NOT the words that comprise it.

Right now, Google seems way ahead in terms of determining intention.

    .

Google is already TOO BIG and Bing has ZERO chances to compete (that's why in my newGoOS blog I've predicted that Bing will be sold to Google in 2012) but (maybe) Facebook CAN do that

If you think that Microsoft will sell Bing to Google then I don't think anybody is going to read your blog.

Lets face it Bing can't overthrow Google even Microsoft knows that. Only if Bing can take away 6-7% marketshare from Google it would be enough to hurt it. 95% revenue of Google comes from search engine, such drop will have affect on their shares and revenues.

Microsoft as for now wants Bing to make profits instead for bleeding money.

What is to fight over such predictions.I don't think that anything could be sustainable forever until better comes to approach its place,So we just have to wait for the better one.Being biased just because you're using it not good!we all should appreciate the competition because this is the only thing which brings fresh air, innovations, something new in the market. And we will be there to get those fruits.

At present google has taken 74% space of user ship calculations. I think it is very hard nut to crack to beat google at least 50 years onwards in web world.

What good would that do? The same thing that Google and everyone else already is doing. Facebook doesn't have any search engine experts and they'd have to start from scratch.

    I don't know

but I'm sure that FB enginneers may be able to invent something new

however, only Facebook has good chances to beat Google thanks to its 500,000,000+ users base

And I'm positive they can't. You're asking facebook to create something better than Google on command.

You can't command employees to make a better product than a competitor like Google and you especially can't command them to do it quicker.

Anything can happen in the future if bing over takes Google or gets close it will make things more interesting.
