But you are not entitled to your own facts. I believe you've demonstrated, once again, that facts do not matter.

Now we can see emergence of JAPAN as a military power, first time since world war 2.

Unlikely to happen as Japan have rigid restrictions that they have adhered to for years, and are likely to continue on similar lines

I don't think that we will see that, but it would be a very interesting change!

People are resistant to change. I don't think that the Japanese, the Chinese, the South Koreans, or the Americans will change because of this.

It's "just another Nuclear power", much like Pakistan.

Yes, but from our previous experience, we should perhaps not take yours too seriously. Just a few days ago, you believed that the planes that was used to commit terroristattacks on 9/11 was controlled via remote control from WTC7.

Now, why shouldn't people take your opinion seriously?
Well.. They aren't only ridiculous and based by fantasies of tin-foil hats. They are also based on layman-assumptions that have been proven to be wrong.

I get the feeling that bush is the scapegoat again over this issue.
Now that's funny how people have made it their principle to blame Bush for everything, even for the nuke test of a criminal regime.

You know whom I mean and I ask you to come back to reality and topic again. For me as none American I must say that Bush junior is the best America has at this time.

    For the nuke test.
North Korea will get more and more isolated and will evaporate by itself sooner or later.
It's possible that there will be some kind of military actions too.

Well having nukes bothers me a lot. Another ultra dangerous country w/nukes.

2 political things. On the one hand forget if Bush or Clinton is and was pres. One can't put full blame or blame on a pres for this. This renegade nation dances to its own drummer. whether we appeased them somewhat or didn't talk w/them at all. Screw the arguments about negotiating and blame....these guys have nuke technology.

On the other hand if Clinton was pres w/this happening the conservatives would be blaming him upside down and backwards.:D (come on guys-you know who you are-:D)

They got missles and nukes and they are ultra dangerous.

They are incredible candidates to sell all sorts of dangerous technology. They are a threat throughout Asia.

This is one more step for cascading growth of nuke technology for dangerous and crazy nations.

    Not good at all

Might be inevitable. If serious action isn't taken; Japan's constitution might have to be changed to allow pre-emptive action. Having an enemy country pointing a nuke at you is not a very nice way to go through life.

Intelligence says it was more "fizz than pop" suggesting it didn't go off as intended. About the size of hiroshima, 15 kilotons.

An armed Japan, right now, might be a good thing. It'll help us with China as well.

    but the prospect of:

S Korea, Japan and other countries going nuclear shortly hereafter is not a way to promote global stability.

    Bush:-
    Test claim only raises tension
    Immediate UN response is deserved
    for "decisive action" by U.N.
    more to follow

    Backup, for possible failure:
    http://asia.news.yahoo.com/061009/ap/d8kl919g0.html

Which may explain the second possible test. Who wants to go to Kim and say "dude, the world is laughing at us. We are the first country to ever fail to explode a fission device."

Will's post is more prophetic now more than ever ;)

It comes with the job. You get blamed and praised for things that can are out of your control.

But hey why should Bush get blamed for this? it's not like he picked North Korea and two other countries and call them evil. Start a (badly plained) war with one of the other countries. In no way would doing those two things would start a change reaction where the other two countries might think it's a good ideal to get some big guns.

Wait are you giving Bush a big complement or are you insulting the rest of America?

If they do evaporate I hope they go quietly. This news makes me fear that they may try and go out with a bang:(
