How is an aged domain treated vs a new domain?

I am thinking about getting a domain...

    10 years old.

no ranking, no history, no banklinks...

So how would this 10 year old domain
compare to a brand new domain?

Would the 10 year old domain get special
treatment just because it has age, but no actual use.
If the 10 year old was used, it was only used for
short periods of time. Its not like the domain
has 10 years of online experience...

    Thanks

I would say BUY IT! Old domains rank higher than the new ones! Of course, domain age is not the only thing you need for a high rank!

I am sure there are a few factors...to me it just sounds like a 10 year old domain would rank better and
faster, then a domain that was created 5 days ago, and waiting to be sandboxed...I am no domain expert,
so I am just guessing that the aged domain will at least get some better treatment over the new domain.

I am getting it none the less..a domain showing 10 years does look more professional then a site showing 5 days....
who would really trust a site that is 5 days old?

Yah but how can you know if this domain is not banned or having filter on it??

Ask someone who know about SEO or send me PM I will help you.

I would go with the new domain because I know that is not banned by google, and I will have good control over it

I would think if google visits to ban a site for certain reasons, then it would
revisit later on to see if the domain complies with google standards...so if
google knows how to ban, would they not be able to un-ban if the site falls
    back within their standards?

although I have no proof if the site is banned since it has not been
online for sometime, but even if it was banned, coulld you not request
google to re-inspect in order to lift the ban?
