    Hello Friends,

    I see that every source coding has using <strong> instead of <b>. Yet both are correct and works fine. Anyone can explain why this is? What the w3 validation will shows..

    Thanks

    Why don't you validate the page and find out for yourself? I don't think it really makes a difference.

    When browser developers were first getting started-- standards were different. I believe IE or the early Netscape browser used <strong>. <b> later became the de facto standard.

    Of course they validate. The difference was to be made by the browser vendors but they never did.

    <b> is used when we only want to make the text bold.

    while,
    <strong> is used to strongly emphasis on the text written within this tag.

    <b>The rank is like this. </b>

    h2
    strong
    h3
    <em>
    h4
    h5

    Dear Friend

    Both act in the same way and have same effect but there is only fundamental difference. Bold is only a style whereas strong is a semantic - it defines the texts it surrounds.
