    Hi guys,

As you all know that backlinks are important for SEO.

1)I wonder what tools you guys used for tracking backlinks
    2) Does the backlinks(hyperlinks) from forum signature counts?

I do not seem able to trace backlinks from DigitalPoint even I did put my on my website links on my signature.

    1) Many people say backlinkwatch.com is good to track your backlinks. And you can use Google Webmaster Tool to see the incoming links.
    2) The signatures in the forums like DP do count, that's partly why so many people are here.
    3) I can not track the backlinks from the DP either, don't why, probably it takes time to index the backlinks.

Yahoo site explorer is a nice tool. also check out Link Diagnosis- for firefox only. it gives you really nice info about your backlinks - PR, anchor texts, inner pages and more...

You can track backlinks from Webmaster tools or you can type in search engines as link:domainname.com

We use a tool that we have developed; LinkVelocityTool (free). This analyzer tool is a user-friendly utility that shows links from the same domain, links from other sites, and the total number of backlinks. It also lists every website that links with the source and the destination, including the increase of backlinks over a period of time. If you also have SEO Quake installed in your browser as I do using Firefox, you can determine link quality as every link is displayed with the Google PageRank from each source. So here, you have a great combination of two tools that cover both quantity and quality of your backlinks.

There are so many tools available , but i feel doubt about them. Every tool indicates something different. Further many a times backlinks are not counted, or removed or shown less. All sorts of things are happening , as i tried to observe it. So it is difficult to really track all backlink atleast that is my opinion.

The backlinks you get are not going to show up the second after you submit them. Sometimes it may take several days or longer. Depending on when the site you submitted your link to gets crawled.

    Best of luck,
    Justin
