    Actually this isn't rocket science, i set up a site about 4 months ago with 0-3 hits/day from organic search until around the 3rd month, then BAM! i now have 500uvs/day - and i'm not even kidding!

    After comprehensive testing, putting the links in the left sidebar yielded the best results. My best guess is, this is how most people read, left to right.
