Yes, that is correct. And there are also lots of free phpLD version 2 mods. There is a lot you can still do with the free version.

 

Actually, I should probably clarify.
Version 1 was never released to the public and stared somewhere around 2002 or so
Version 2 was free and released around 2005 or so.
Within a year we got so busy that we could not provide adequate support without charging and version 3 was born.
More recently, version 4 was released (also paid), and is simply our continuing development of the script

The most popular versions of the script have been 2.0, 3.2, 3.4, 4.0, and 4.1, and there are lots of sites running for each of these version still today.

beside of phpld, what else script use for directory?

 

I see the benefit of being submitted to a directory. However what is the benefit of owning a free directory?
