I have godaddy hosting and mysql is so slow it's almost redicilous. I need a better host. What are hosts that have fast sql's and don't charge a lot? I was considering dreamhost or site5 suggestions?
Hello, Can any one tell me a cheap web hosting server. It must not cost more than $15 per annum. Each site has a 20 static web pages. Up to 2 years i want the site to be in live with out break downs. Prabha99
Hosting on a webserver for $15 per annum can not offer too many options. Plus I would not recommend such services. That's $1.25 per month. I doubt you will find any valuable hosting for that price. But I too recommend hostgator.
@int_josh : I'd suggest you to go with HostGator. Look for reviews in my sig. @prabha99 : You can consider www.duoni.com for very low budget plans.
hey guys I've never had my own dedicated server before. It seems interesting, but how hard is it to setup? Any tutorials, etc? Also, are there any good hosting services that have fast sql, where I don't have to setup my own dedicated server?
Well...as a start i recommend going with VPS first, try it for couple of months to get use to the idea having your own server. many VPS providers comes with Control panel to manage your server that includes the database, domains, bandwidth etc.. Knownhost.com is a good provider with really good prices and support. i recommend them. Cheers.
will I always get a better SQL perfomance on a VPS than on shared hosting? also, how long is the learning curve for all this server stuff? I've never had to deal with it before..
Note once you have a dedicated server (unmanaged) you will have to deal with all the issues (installation of software, updates, fixes, monitoring etc..) other wise you will be charged a good money for asking your support to do it.. learning should not take that long, the good thing most of the applications/packages comes with helpful documentation to enable you do it by yourself. most important thing is to know what you are doing, some basic Unix commands, tuning some of the major issues like setting your domains, DNS, ftp accounts, bandwidth and for sure the databases like mysql once you have most of the above done you are on the right track. i always recommend to have a dedicated server once your project needs that much. if you are not willing to learn the straight answer is to have a MANAGED dedicated server. hope that helped!
I use 1fasthost.com. I have several sites there and haven't had any problems with them for the past several years.
I use Dreamhost, no problems with them except for some downtime sometimes. But things are going good. I wouldn't recommend them as a damn lot of people have had problems with them. But I never had them... so IT
