Japan’s Self-Defense Forces will conduct large-scale joint military exercises with the U.S. between Dec. 3 and 10, sending numerous ships and aircrafts out into the waters and airspace surrounding Japan. According to the SDF, some 34,100 troops from Japan will participate in the drills, along with 10,400 from the U.S.

If North Korea attacks, I can't see how US/SK forces do not fire back, in which case, full out war. Since the North would likely flatten Seol. In that case, full out war between both Korea's. Whether it escalates to that is somebodies guess.

I doubt the North would defeat Seoul. They don't have the Chinese to send them bodies and guns this time around. It would be a shitty economy which can't even keep the lights on in its capital city at night versus a developed first world country.

I am not so confident. Seoul is only 31 miles from the North Korean border. They captured it in 1950 and almost completely destroyed it before they were kicked out in 1951. The Chinese may be hesitant to provide additional support in the event of a full-scale conflict, but they have already provided the North Koreans with far more than enough stockpiled arms. North Korea is also not short on underfed soldiers who are more than willing to risk their lives just for something to eat.

First world developed countries are, in comparison, soft. South Koreans aren't even allowed to own guns. Their private citizens could not help defend Seoul against the barbarian hordes.

N Korea Military Tactics In A War With US most likely errors on the side of pessimism, but I would certainly see Seoul as an early target in the conflict.

The U.S. response to North Korean aggression is unknown. The U.S. is almost leaderless at the current time, with a boy king on the throne of the most powerful nation ever to exist. I hope South Korean defense plans do not count on rapid help from the U.S.

Waisting our treasury in Iraqi for 10 years for no reason or future advantage as the baby boy Bush and the Republicans already have done and being the laughing stalks of the Middle East is no worse than anything the present Administration will do in Korea.

South Korea needs a back bone of their own.

Obama spent more in his first 90 days in office than Congress did in nearly a decade defending freedom.

War is good for economy, so it's likely to happen yes :)
If not for this reason, another one will be found, but war needs to keep on going in the world for those who benefit from it.

You right war is good for the economy.
The dollar will become strong if war started in the east.

Of course it's going to happen. All the goverments and banks create clever words like quantitative easing aka lets create more fake money to cover the interest on the already existing fake money. Then we'll need to create even more fake money to cover the interest on that fake money, the only thing that stops the world going bust if the time laps between fake money created by the bank and the time they want it back plus interest money that dosn't exist. When the worlds banking system is being ran like a ponzi scheme it'll only end one way and that'll be pretty much everything being worth jack shit apart from food and water and other basics to maintain human life. The biggest threat today is not the fucking taliban or it's our own economic system, the only thing that would be worse right now is if some extremeist group got their hands on a WMD and that's it.

Go and spend all your money because it'll be worth nothing at some point. Put your focus on what really matters friends and family. Don't lose your sense of humor either, because there may come a time when that's all you have left.

    Let the good times begin.....

Not much news from the Korea's - the north does have a way of making the headlines, for whatever reasons and for the same results.

    There's only one solution left.

Gone bust due to greed, can no longer support its own economic system. Needs new owner.

You should be happy that Patton is not the president, otherwise he would have put you and your friends in front of firing squads for being such cowards and refusing to fight for your country.:D

Every year around Christmas, my homosexual Canadian friend starts feeling frisky and bumps old threads with irrelevant posts in the hopes that I will talk to him.

Julian, for the last time, I am not gay. I am flattered. But seriously, I am a happily married hetero male with kids and an occupation. Did you start upping your doses of Estraderm again?

Go find someone else to bug.

How about your alter ego, BreezeWood.
