How can I avoid site downtime while transferring domain?

Hello! I am going to transfer my domain. This transfer may happen today midnight, when I will be sleeping. I am using different services from hosting and domains. I have already uploaded my files to host but the only thing that is required is to change DNS in my new domain server account. I can do it only when the domain is transferred to my new host, right?

I am afraid then I will be sleeping and can change DNS, when I will wake up and it will take some more time to come into effect.

During this period my site will be down, How can I minimize downtime of my site?

    Thank you for your help!

You don't have to wait for domain transfer to new host, infect you don't have to transfer your domain, you can change change NS in current account as well, domain transfer from one registrar to another takes 3-4 days

get a hosting account first. point you domain to new hosting. than transfer your domain (if you want to). no downtime this way.

Not possible. How you can point your domain to new hosting until it is transferred.
Because, it will not show up in your account you can not change NS before transfer is complete.

you want to transfer your site to another server OR transfer your domain to another registrar? OR maybe both?

    I guess your using CPanel?
The host might have restrictions in place which prevent it.

Normally you could point the DNS A record to a server without having to transfer the domain.
