I have been using Adsense on my sites in the last months and found it very easy to maintain a high CTR, this can be done with perfect blending where the user can't see the difference between links which lead to pages within your site and links which are from Adsense. Question is: can it ruin your earnings through smartpricing? I have analyzed Earnings per Click for the last months and they have gone down from (main average) 0.12 cents to 0.11 cents. Now I'm afraid that this trend could go on further. I would be very interested in experiences: those who use *very aggressively* blending: has it hurt your earnings (lower EPC?) Or has EPC stayed the same?
Interesting discussion. I can't really tell anymore because almost all my integration of AdSense these days is instantly blended, so I don't go from a unintegrated to a well blended site so I can't really comment from direct experience, but I would think that if you went from say a 2% CTR to a 10% CTR that's a 500% increase in clicks hold traffic constant. Now I'd like to think that pretty much regardless of the industry you are targeting you probably aren't going to see a reduction that completely negates that 500% gain. My thoughts: Basically I just suggest going for a "well" integrated AdSense style because at the end of the day there is only so much time you can waste on integrating AdSense before you just stop seeing "significant" gains in comparison to what else you could be doing. See whilst an improvement in CTR through better integration may lead to some of your gains being smartpriced. If you double your traffic you can probably rest assured that more clicks in this sense won't have the negative effect of smart pricing because your not "tricking" more people into clicking through better integration you are just getting more people to see the ads that leads to high gains. Moral of the story, learn good integration techniques then move on SEO and content building!
Blending the ads will give you higher CTR because your visitors will get tricked into clicking it, and the clicks might not converting well for the advertiser, you'll get smartpriced and that results in lower earnings per click. My 2cents
yea i dont think it would have a negative inmpact on your earnings mabe its just a coincidence that low paying ads r just appearing recently for u?
Blend your adsense definate will increase your daily earning. Visitor will not notice it's ad. and just will click it again and again. Once you make adsense visible, people will ignore it, including me!
one poor converting site will affect your adsense account. Your whole account will be smartpriced. Its a google game, there will be ups and downs, so dont worry too much about it. Just keep building new sites and keep growing them.
also, it is a question of what you want your visitors think about you. do you want visitors that come and accidentally click one of your ads thinking that it is a regular link, and never coming back to your site, or do you want visitors who come and bookmark your site, visit everyday for fresh info, and click your ads from time to time whenever they are interested? in my opinion, a visitor have to be aware that it is an advertisement before clicking the ad. blending is not to trick visitors. you should do blending for the sole purpose of not to overwhelm visitors with ads.
