Has anyone tried building links to a youtube clip? What were the results? Video on google and or Youtube search results?
Me i haven't try that. Well as we all know people are also inclined and link with much videos that why creating a link-building to it would surely give good result.
Like your web 2.0 properties, building back links to your video isn't a bad idea. Videos from years ago still rank well in SERPs so it could be a solid source of referral traffic -IF- it's properly optimized for high traffic keywords.

Sorry to say but you can't get Do Follow link from Youtube video becuase you can get from there no follow link. It will good to drive traffic on your site but not for backlink.
You build links normally, you just make the anchor text/URL your keyword/youtube video, it's not different to building links to any other website/page.
Tried it and received a great result from it. You can also achieve high PR with the use of YouTube Channels. Only few webmaster know this technique.
i have some very high view rate videos on youtube that sends traffic to my blogs. Unfortunately only 3% of the visitors come to my blogs but if your video is very popular it is Worthing
