I have heard from a few people saying they have been banned by google for putting adsense ads on youtube. Does this merger mean we can do it now?

    Google didn't merge with Youtube.

    They are competitors.

    Never believe rumors.

    Peace,

It is being reported that Google is looking at paying $1.6 billion to buy YouTube, which was created in November of 2005. The following article discusses this:

    http://washington.bizjournals.com/sanfrancisco/stories/2006/10/02/daily43.html

There was a more interesting analysis of YouTube during trhe past week, which stated that it is not being pursued by the movie and recordiung industry because it does not currently have any money. However, once there is someone with real money in charge, the lawsuits will fly unless any pirated content is removed from the site. Remove that and you are left with something less interesting than Atom Films -- and its audience will drift away.

If Google buys it, it will not be a revenue sharing site. All ads will be Google's because the company is trying to monopolize as many eyeballs on nthe internet as it can -- which is the point of buying something that works better than Google's effort to do the same thing.

there was a site where you submit your favorite youtube video, and they also let you run adsense on it. Was a good idea but i guess people abused it, and the site removed that option :(
